— Former F1 champion Alan Jones has expressed his confidence in Oscar Piastri's potential to surpass Lando Norris in the world championship. Jones believes Piastri possesses all the necessary attributes for success in Formula 1. Speaking to media, Jones remarked:
“He has all the qualities that I think you need to be super successful in Formula 1.”
“[Some people] no matter what they do, they're successful. And he is one of those people. He was successful in Formula 3, he was successful in Formula 2 and now he leads the world championship.”
— Taking a jab at Norris, Jones suggested that some drivers, like Norris, might not enjoy driving F1 cars as much as others. He explained:
