Watching Hope (and Peter, and the whole cast) each day on set has been a masterclass I never want to end.
Hope Davis gave me chills in #LineOfFire 1x06 "Cabin Pressure." The way she played Jane connecting with the grieving father/airplane hijacker. The grief she conveyed over having lost a child and then the choice to push her family away to not feel that pain again. Heartbreaking.

‼️ My Review for #LineofFire Episode 6 *Cabin Pressure* ‼️
Oh my goodness, the sheer panic and emotional whiplash of this hour! I keep saying it week after week, but #LineofFire is officially a masterclass in giving us zero breathing room. This episode had my heart in my throat, and it perfectly balances high-stakes structural tension with those devastatingly beautiful family dynamics we've all come to love.
🚨 Massive Spoilers Ahead! Let's Unpack This! 🚨
Hope Davis’s Absolute Masterclass🙌🏼
Hope Davis just blew me away tonight. Honestly, seeing this kind of masterclass from Peter, Hope, and the rest of the cast each week is beyond amazing! We see the seemingly steely persona of Jane completely break down during her conversation with the father who lost his little girl due to the airline’s negligence. She resonated so deeply with his hurt, with that instinct to push people away and lashing out because it’s easier than facing the raw pain of loss.
Her pain, of course, was losing Jack, and that grief cost her everything. She built up such a strong wall that no one could break through because she simply wouldn't let them. But now she’s trying. She needs her husband and her children around her to heal, and she is just hoping it’s not too late to repair the damage. I felt every single emotion here. I know exactly what it’s like to put up walls because it’s easier than being vulnerable and facing things. Hope poured her entire self into this performance beautifully, and you could feel it right through the screen! Can Mike and Jane find their way back across this fractured bridge? Well, Jane landed safely and got to hug her babies, but we have yet to see her and Mike reunite because Big Mike has big, big problems of his own!!!
Mike's World Shatters (And My Nerves Are Shot!)🫨
Mike discovering that the deceit was coming from inside the house was a total shocker! While his family was trying to land a plane, Mike was facing an entirely different kind of explosion. We previously thought Antosca was the rogue agent behind the fake assassination attempt on President Barnes…but the real twist? Antosca didn't do it, he was actually murdered by his own close friend and fellow Secret Service agent, Darryl!
And not going to lie, my TV PTSD kicked in hard at the end because I truly didn’t know if Mike was going to make it out of that house safely. (Look, I still have big feelings when it comes to his safety, ok?! IYKYK!!). Darryl literally looked him in the eye and left him with the ultimate, heavy question: does he burn it all down for the truth, or live with a massive political lie for the sake of his country?
But now, Mike has to face an even bigger task with more secrets threatening his family. Peter Krause always has a way to ground every single scene he’s in, delivering all that heavy emotion in the most nuanced way. The masterclass this show delivers is truly incomparable.
The Ultimate Father-Son Dynamic🤝
Micah admitting to Mike that he feels like he lives in his dad's legendary shadow was both heartbreaking and heartwarming. Watching Mike assert to his son that he needs to live for himself, and not in anyone's shadow, was just beautiful. He does it exactly how a great father would: with a gentle but firm hand, showing he has all the confidence in the world in his son. And in return, Micah learned that he should have the same confidence in his father. These two are cut from the very same cloth, and together, they are absolutely unstoppable!
Clare and the Sibling Teamwork (Plus Hello, Flirtation!)❤️
Can we get a massive round of applause for the Hollingsworth siblings? They finally gave us exactly what we've been begging for: total teamwork! On the ground, Clare, Micah, and Russ worked frantically together to save their mom.
Seeing her mother admit to putting up those emotional walls made Clare realize she was building those exact same barriers herself. She's starting to let her guard down more and more because she doesn't want the grief to change her in that way.
But okay... we have to talk about Russ bringing along his NSA buddy Brandon Hayes (Tyler Posey). Did anyone else catch the absolute look in Russ’s eyes when checking Brandon out?! The subtle, lingering chemistry between those two was completely off the charts. And that incredibly awkward "girlfriend talk" at the end? Oh, my radar is officially tuned to this frequency! Russ deserves some happiness, and I am so here for this little spark.
Jack, Honey... What Are You Doing?!🫣
Did Jack watch way too much Dexter as well as Blade Runner? Because Jack honey, what are you actually doing out there?! He literally lured Nia into a trap, knocked her out, and threatened her entire family to keep his secret. The fact that he didn't permanently get rid of her tells me there's still a shred of a good brother left in there... but wow, the emotional warfare is getting terrifying! Why is he keeping his family in the dark like this? I am sooooo intrigued and confused, and I absolutely LOVE that this show keeps me on the edge of my seat each week with my mouth completely gapped open! 😱
The Verdict🔥
We saw in this episode that the Hollingsworth family is so much stronger together than they are apart. Even though they have gone through so much that fractures them, they are finally finding their way back to each other, and once they do, nothing will stop them! I can't wait for that. I also can't wait for Mike and Jane to finally share that bottle of Woodford because mom and dad need to stop fighting…that love is palpable and it is for sure not over. Bring on November 9th I can’t wait!!🔥
