Merely reading and contemplating the bible a few times is worth more than a lifetime of theological bloviating or solipsistic self-help doctrine about being “saved”.
The I Ching is a vast, interconnected territory that eludes any direct approach. The Oracle is its guardian—you ask a question and it reveals an entrance. This may seem like an unnecessary formality, but the hexagrams are hardly intelligible except as answers.
I don't think any other book is read in such a way. Most are waiting, inert, ready to be read through or picked through until they've been exhausted, but one is never finished reading the I Ching. You perform the ritual of entry and a brand new reading is revealed.
Writing with excessive hyperbole is akin to farting loudly in public, except that the writer usually seems to think they're doing something very impressive and will probably keep doing it until they are sufficiently sick of themselves without quite knowing why.
I've sat in many meetings with with faceless government employees across a few different agencies, and I'm still shocked when they use the phrases "good guys" and "bad guys", which happens often. It is a juvenile and cowardly manner of speech.
A lot of Americans seem to have a pantheon of enemy-archetypes in their head that guide all of their behavior, and if you superficially map onto one of these archetypes they feel at liberty to treat you like shit
