#AVFC to extend Unai Emery's contract beyond 2029. Led by Nassef Sawiris, the plan is to also renew the contracts of Emery's key football executives, Roberto Olabe and Damian Vidagany. Villa had informed Emery of their intentions to renew his contract some time ago, with the 55yo happy at the club. Story @TheAthleticFC

I know it’s probably mainly to quieten the noise as we’ve got United next but find it an odd announcement without a new contract. Might just be me 🤷🏼♀️
Aston Villa held an important working meeting today to plan the club's future and lay the foundations for its long-term sporting and institutional project.
The meeting brought together Nassef Sawiris, the club's Chairman and Unai Emery alongside President of Football Operations Roberto Olabe and Director of Football Operations Damián Vidagany.
The discussions focused on jointly planning the club's long-term strategic direction, with positive discussions establishing a clear commitment beyond 2029 for the joint development of the club under the sporting leadership of Unai Emery based on the shared ambitions and common goal to reach excellency and keep growing during the next years.
The objective is clear: to build an ambitious, competitive Aston Villa capable of taking on the biggest challenges and achievements.

FT: Barcelona 3-0 #AVFC
Barcelona the better side and their quality is undeniable, but can't help but feel Villa did not give the best account of themselves. Caused their own downfall with the opening goal, which could have happened a few more times when playing out from the back. Lacked precision when they did create dangerous openings and generally felt as if players played within themselves. But 9 points from 12 is excellent, with tonight far from defining Villa's campaign - another experience they'll learn from too. They're in a good position.
Unfortunately a couple of them shit the bed early doors but we’ve done well even if we have lacked a composure in decent positions. Get an Mbaye or Alysson on.
I wasn’t expecting to like the team tonight…I actually love it 😂 All while resting some key key players. C’mon the boysssss.
Singing Carricks name and then booing the team once Carrick was down the tunnel 😮💨
Enjoyed that. Players get away with too much.
How do you run out of Coke Zero and hot water for hot drinks over half hour before kick off? 🤣🤣 #avfc
Massive win. Proud of every single one. Potentially one fit fullback for the next few weeks 😅 Big result.
