Bitcoin's security budget problem? Nothing to worry about! Hashrate goes up. Merge mining fixes everything. Just print more BTC. Or tax the holders. 😂 Four answers. Zero explanation of the underlying economic problem. The question isn't whether Bitcoin is secure today. It's whether its security model remains sustainable as block subsidies decline and the value it protects grows. Who pays the bill, Maxi Bob? #BitcoinMaxi #Bitcoin @natgmi ethereum:0x249130f5e2dd4cf278180c0df8273f3592ad1247 natgmi.com/natpaper

The problem with Paul (or anyone else for that matter) making bold statements like these, is that they are literally (and provably) false. Which means one of two things: 1) Paul does not sufficiently research the area within which he positions himself as somewhat of an expert. 2) He does stay up to date, but for whatever reason, chooses to hide the existence of certain solutions from his followers. Neither of course are ideal. So, Paul wants you to believe that merged mining (aka relying on external networks to pay Bitcoin's miners) is the "only practical solution" to the security budget issue. Now, the reason such opinions are not immediately laughed out the room by most Bitcoiners today, is that the classic alternatives that have been presented over the years are truly, truly terrible! For example: A) Increase the 21M supply (lol) B) Introduce network-level taxation on unspent BTC (MEGA LOLZ) Within this context, it's easy to see how Paul's suggestion of driving additional revenue to miners from external networks could seem like a pretty good idea. 🤷 However, do you as a Bitcoin holder really want the security of the network, and therefore the value of your precious sats, to be reliant upon some other random network not only surviving, but its token price remaining high enough to make the merge-mining revenue stream worthwhile for miners? 👀 Personally, I couldn't think of many things worse than that. The fate of Bitcoin, the greatest network ever built, to have its very survival left in the hands of another network that is NOT Bitcoin?! 😬 To me, that is genuinely laughable Paul claims that merge-mining is the "only" solution. 🤔 I say (respectfully) that Paul is wrong. But not just wrong in my own, personal opinion. Verifiably wrong, as there has been a Bitcoin-native, supplementary block-subsidy being paid to miners for almost 2 years now, and it's called @natgmi. A solution that pays Bitcoin miners an additional block-subsidy WITHOUT requiring any: - changes to Bitcoin's code - forks - merge-mined networks - network-level taxation - BTC supply increases - claiming or opting-in. Just a Bitcoin-native asset paid directly to miners, which derives its issuance from Bitcoin's own Proof-of-Work data. Specifically, the 'nBits' field in each block header, which encodes the mining difficulty target. A non-invasive and incredibly elegant solution as a 2nd subsidy paid to miners' wallets alongside their standard rewards, via @tap_protocol. An asset that is already being distributed by major mining pools such as @SpiderPool_com and @f2pool An asset that has received onchain support from over 55% of Bitcoin's total hashrate. An asset named ethereum:0x249130f5e2dd4cf278180c0df8273f3592ad1247 ⛏️ So, @Truthcoin, if you truly believe that merge-mining is the "only practical solution" to the security budget problem, then I would like to formally extend a warm invitation to you, to come and discuss this on an X Space with both myself and the creators of @natgmi (@WilliamGomezJr & @iman_blockrun) 🎙️ At the very least, this would be a fantastic educational opportunity for the audience, as debates such as these are exactly what are needed to ensure this (very serious) security budget issue is understood by more Bitcoiners as soon as possible. 🚨
Yes, merged mining is the only practical solution to the Security Budget problem But Bitcoin is openly hostile to MM, for absolutely no good reason Part of the mysterious self-destruction of BTC

The long term security budget of bitcoin doesn’t matter until it does
Bitcoin's long-term security budget is becoming part of the investment case for Zcash “I find Bitcoin deeply uninteresting” “Anytime I've tried to talk about the security budget of Bitcoin over the last 10 years, everyone has said, you're thinking about it too hard” “You have to think about this today” “Zcash has gone from basically $50 to now $1,300, still sitting at a fraction of Bitcoin's market cap” @santiagoroel questions whether Bitcoin's long-term security incentives are receiving enough attention. As block rewards continue to decline through halvings, transaction fees will need to play a larger role in sustaining miner revenue. He believes investors should be examining that challenge today. Zcash has become increasingly relevant to his thesis following its substantial price appreciation, while still trading at a fraction of Bitcoin's valuation. He considers a scenario where capital rotates away from Bitcoin toward Zcash, although he stops short of making a clear prediction that ZEC will surpass BTC in market cap.

“What if it gets big?” He doesn't know. Neither do we. What he does know: it pays every block, and is adopted by the majority of hashrate Bitcoin's subsidy halves in 2028. This doesn't.

Understanding a problem early is a lonely business. The halving schedule is public. The fee data is public. The room was nearly empty anyway. 2026. ethereum:0x249130f5e2dd4cf278180c0df8273f3592ad1247

A Bitcoin mining show on $NAT this week: @CincoDoggos "NAT is related to Bitcoin mining and it is being subsidized on certain pools right now. It is worth talking about." Another miner: "If you got a NAT pool that you like, send it my way and I'll throw some hash right at it."

This is crazy, Pippo is the only dog robinhood page has posted and there’s no runner yet. Obvious narrative that is cheap asf at the moment. Sorting comms and paying dex now 0x5809e72cea544f7656c5a5fcc875a3bca29f0f5b

Obrigado, @RockstarGames. Vocês mudaram vidas!

@PresidioPod were asked about $NAT on air. They guessed merge mining, or a “shitcoin pre-mine token”, then said: “If you want to point us where we can learn more, I'm happy to check it out.” Glad to... Here it is @moneyball @maxawebster @dksf

@PresidioPod responded to a comment I made on their live stream yesterday regarding NAT. Naturally, they downplayed it immediately, but that’s almost expected when the solution is so unfamiliar even to those who understand Bitcoin’s mining problem well. NAT’s almost 3 years old yet many still haven’t heard about it. Below is the time stamp of when they reacted to my NAT comment: youtube.com/live/Wsu5J5yJU4Q…

The OG Bitcoiners are ignoring this 1 issue on purpose. BIP-110 was never an issue, but the miner issue is. $BTC needs to double its ATH prices or it will die. Bitcoin NEEDS $NAT @ToneVays @adam3us @aantonop @saylor Why are you ignoring this simple & solvable issue?

The CEO of Robinhood @vladtenev ranks tokenization as the biggest innovation in capital markets since the limit order book. His test for what to tokenize: something useful, with no way to trade it Bitcoin's security is the largest asset that has ever met that description $NAT

NAT (DMT-NAT) is a Bitcoin-native non-arbitrary token generated from each block's data and paid directly to the miners who find that block. It shares the same hashrate, chain, and addresses as BTC, functioning as a secondary subsidy. Advocates position it as a way to support miner incentives and the security budget as block rewards continue to decline, without changing Bitcoin's protocol. Current contribution remains small relative to BTC rewards. More at natgmi.com.
