An entire road in Blarney, has had little or no water since the weekend. Elderly residents with no showers and no working toilets.
@IrishWater told residents it is not their problem. I disagree. I have written to them this morning demanding an immediate investigation and answers today.

Too right.
2 weeks later and still none of the original information about Miss Ogbu's journey to Ireland from Nigeria has been re-instated.
What's going on @labour ?

Great article and giving people hope that real journalists exist that aren’t afraid to ask the real questions.

An Coimisiún Pleanála (ACP) has deferred its decision on Uisce Éireann's plans to extract more than 300 million litres of water per day from the River Shannon to serve the greater Dublin region.
Described as the largest water infrastructure project in the State's history, the Proposed Water Supply Project for the Eastern and Midlands Region would see Uisce Éireann extract millions of litres of water from the River Shannon during drought periods to boost water supplies in the east of the country.

Thank you Irish Examiner today for the best laugh of the month!
Shane O'Curry of the taxpayer-funded Irish Network Against Racism lashing out at the toxicity & dehumanising language and that, being used in discourse particularly around migration.
The same Shane O'Curry who, a fortnight ago described journalists at the Irish Daily Mail as "shit-eating sewer rats" before linking them to all sorts of fascism, and finally exhorting us to "clear them" which sounds suspiciously like incitement.
What had the beastly Daily Mail done to merit such hostility? Held the Labour party HQ and its prominent politician Helen Ogbu to account about her backstory, which thus far, has resulted in website and other changes, and an apology by Ogbu to Galway councillors, and we are still in the foothills of the story.
Today quoted as a reputable commentator in the Examiner on toxicity and dehumanisation no less. Thanks for the laugh!

figures show that households are paying an average of 40.2c/Kwh for electricity generation, and 7.6c/Kwh for their network costs. By comparison, big energy users such as Data Centres are paying just 19.1c/Kwh for electricity generation, and just 0.7c/Kwh for their network costs.
Data centres are now using almost five million litres of public water per day. new figures have revealed. -

Taoiseach Micheál Martin said this week that he does not believe it is a "valid juxtaposition" to contrast the hosepipe ban with data centres' water consumption.
"We know that the average house- hold water usage is approximately 133 litres of water per person per day, yet now we learn that iust 57 data centres across the country are managing to guzzle almost five million litres of water per day," @ciaranahern

"Informative figures" say ex-Taoiseach Leo Varadkar below.
Then uses 45 words in the rest of his Tweet to undermine @Nick_Delehanty immense work and new database.
Yes, there may be niggles with the data, but it is directionally sound. And why the hell does it fall to Nick Delehanty to produce this information? And Nick is working with the only data that is in the public domain.
We've seen that the only place you get regular work permit analysis is on Twitter. What are the Irish Times and RTE doing?
Why can't we get Officialdom to provide the "informative figures" with the niggles ironed out??? Do we have to wait for the 5-year Census and stay in the dark in the interim? With Tweets filled with 95% criticism from the ex-Taoiseach for anyone who puts their head above the parapet?

Informative figures. Worth pointing out though that each work permit issued is NOT the same a new arrival in the state. Far from it. These numbers would include renewals & extensions, change of status, changes of work type etc. And, not everyone stays. That doesn't come across.

Maybe Senan Allen could get a side gig post retirement as this is “a specialism”.
His verbal “analysis” of a case in which borrowers were duped by Ulster Bank amounted to “you borrowed the money”.
They did not in fact “borrow the money” reflected in the hidden credit line. Emphasis on the “hidden”.
This has been reported to the Department of Justice and they have expressed empathy - mere “empathy” in regard to citizens’ assets being stripped by foreign owned banks and facilitated through courts - is a rather chilling response.
