Is anyone else getting a kernel panic every time they plug or unplug Thunderbolt from their MBP? Haven't moved this Mac for 2 years, making RTO a bit painful when it crashes any time I move it 🤦

We've been shifting Bloomberg to be open source first. New hire ramp up period reduced, less code duplication, etc. The benefits have been known for some time, but imaging shfiting a 40 year old company to them! bloomberg.com/company/values… (p.s. I'm hiring) #OpenSource

An internal part of my past-life webops engineer self is twitching this morning at this Fastly outage, thoughts with all of you inside and out. Super weird getting push notifications from @Bloomberg on my phone that Fastly is down!

Today in "wow, computers": SSH never worked on my APC UPS, tcp connection closes instantly with no banner etc. Finally decided to factory reset and try again. Turns out, changing the UPS' hostname to "ups" breaks SSH reproducibly. Latest firmware (Nov 2020). What.

Update: According to @APCbySchneider, this is not a bug, because factory resetting fixes it. You know, until I set the name back to "ups" again... 🤔

Proposal: Ditch this "GHz" rubbish, switch to a new universal method of measuring CPU speed in "mistakes per second". My CPU can also make 32 mistakes concurrently with Hyperthreading!
