Developing a positive, transaction-level theory of which actors qualify as Coasian stakeholders, how that set of stakeholders changes, and how the capacity to prevent, delay, or reduce the joint value of a focal value-creating transaction affects value creation and capture, from Matthew J. JCL hoje:

Repeal the Onion Futures Act of 1958 - this is our generation’s version of the repeal of the corn laws!
University of Chicago Students to Protest at Chicago Mercantile Exchange, Demand End to Federal Ban on Onion Futures Student-led group For Our Futures will rally Monday morning to call for repeal of the 1958 Onion Futures Act On Monday, October 19, at 8:30 a.m., members of For Our Futures, a student-led organization from @UChicago, will gather outside the Chicago Mercantile Exchange (@CMEGroup) headquarters to demand the repeal of the Onion Futures Act of 1958, a nearly 70-year-old federal law prohibiting futures trading in onions. The Onion Futures Act, enacted following allegations of market manipulation in the 1950s, singled out onions for a prohibition on futures contracts that remains in effect today. For Our Futures is calling on Congress to repeal the ban and restore the ability of onion growers, buyers, and traders to participate in a regulated futures market. Onions remain the only commodity banned from futures trading in the United States. The protest will feature a giant inflatable onion costume, protest signs, and dozens of students, and will take place outside the headquarters of CME Group, one of the world's largest derivatives marketplaces and the historic center of American onion futures trading. Subestima, superestima, etc.
As proteções trabalhistas? As férias remuneradas? Décimo terceiro? Escolas?

It has been said before…
Brazilian friends, let me be completely honest: there is no communist, Leninist, or even Marxist here in China. We don't even have active labour unions, you leftists are on your own.

Segue o link: organizationsandmarkets.subs…

Yes, all actually existing forms of capitalism develop significant cronyism—especially under democratic politics, where the incentives of managers and politicians align to expand the rent-seeking state. But socialism does not merely “also develop” cronyism; under state ownership of the means of production, allocation by political connection is the system. The relevant question is comparative and empirical: under which arrangement is the resulting privilege more limited in scope, more constrained by residual competition and exit, and less destructive of the information and incentive mechanisms that generate prosperity? The 20th-century record answers that question decisively in favor of the imperfect capitalist systems.
