While we wait and see if Ornato will dispute a colorful but legally meaningless detail of Hutchinson's account on the record, let alone under oath, Pat Cipollone, more importantly, does not deny he warned that Trump messing with Congress certifying the election would be a crime.

Tony Ornato sure seems to deny conversations he’s apparently had. First this one with Keith Kellogg in “I Alone Can Fix It” & now he’s denying the story he told Cassidy Hutchinson. Those of us who worked w/ Tony know where his loyalties lie. He should testify under oath.

say it turns out Hutchinson was right, who do we see about that? We don’t know who the spokesperson is. If we somehow find out, they’ll say Meadows told them to say it. If we put the matter to Meadows, we’re likely to get a new spokesperson. There’s no stakes to lying this way.

Let him say it himself and let him say it under oath. This unnamed spokesperson gaslight parade cuts a poor figure next to the astounding courage of yesterday’s testimony, and it’s not offering any real enough information to merit journalists lending their platforms to it.
More pushback on Hutchinson testimony, this time from a Meadows spox telling @nbcnews: "Meadows never sought a pardon and never planned to.” From my convos, as of now, there seems no change in their posture re: testifying w/ the cmte and privilege claims.

The dispute about whether Trump grabbed the wheel or not is a side show. In any event it does nothing to undermine Hutchinson‘s credibility. The person who needs to testify about it is the man she sent me the statement, Ornato. And he should be testifying anyway after yesterday.
