In light of recent events, I thought it would be timely to reshare this article with @jbpilet just published in Party Politics suggesting that mainstream parties via their behavior in campaigns can legitimize radical right parties (cf. CDU/AfD in Germany) 👇
Glad to see this study w @jbpilet out in Party Politics: using an experiment in Belgium, we show that signaling willingness by a mainstream party to rule with the radical right legitimizes the latter, while not granting an electoral advantage to the former journals.sagepub.com/doi/10.…
