Penn State losing to Northwestern is just further proof that there are no weeks off in the Big Ten.

COST ASSOCIATED WITH LEADERSHIP

With last night's win, OHS Head Football Coach Jay Fallin moved into 2nd place on the all-time coaching wins list at Owensboro High School! Coach Fallin's teams have gone 95-31 in his 9 plus seasons as the head coach, winning more than 75 percent of their games. Congrats! #FILD

Since it's youth football Jamboree day here's a message to all the football parents and coaches out there...
Back in 2017, my 5th/6th grade youth football team went 0-8
No wins... lots of losses.
In 2024/25 7 out of those 18 kids will play a college sport.
I can't tell you how meaningless youth football is to your son's potential high school football career.
Nothing truly happens until after puberty.
Doesn't matter what "elite" organization you play for.
Doesn't matter what town you play for.
Doesn't matter if you're the best player or only play 10 plays.
Doesn't matter how many times you go to Florida.
Doesn't matter how many superbowls you win.
The only thing that matters is that you have fun and learn to love the game.
I've seen the best youth player quit in high school...
I've seen heavy slow lineman become a stud high school running back.
I've seen the monster kid just average size in high school.
Do not care,
do not compare...
Learn skills...
Have fun...
Love the game...

Dear Coach Marcus Kimbrell,
“A good person loves their own kids, a great person loves other people’s kids.” There’s no better quote than that for Coach Marcus Kimbrell! Started in 1997, 28 years of coaching, 11 as a head coach, 16 years at OHS. Coached in 3 state championship games. More importantly thousands of athletes who have been coached and cared for by Coach Kimbrell. The words thank you aren’t enough for years of caring for others children that you have done.
As a father, the best things you can give to your children are love, moments of joy, work ethic, discipline, and a good name. And the Kimbrell name is a name of high standards, a name of character, a name of love, and a name of integrity. While you couldn’t give your players your last name, you did teach them love, work ethic, discipline, character, integrity, and gave moments of joys.
The football fields in Kentucky won’t be the same without you. Rash Stadium crowds got a good man added to it. Even though it’s not enough we want to say THANK YOU, for your many years of service to our community. #FILD #WeAreOwensboro
