As soon as he began with falsehood that Maidan Square protests from Nov. 2013 were US/NATO "coup"....
I must confess, after 5 minutes, bored of the misinformation of the origins of the conflict, I turned it off. I've just watched the rest and endured 25 minutes of you characterising the conflict as a proxy war and not a war of survival for the ukrainians.
The interviewer attempted to ask you on two occasions how you'd end the war. You shirked the first attempt, simply stating you didn't know and you'd rather run off and hide. (The brilliant and insightful commentary I look for in a pundit 🙄) And after the second attempt, apart from rightly saying it's not up to you to advocate surrendering land, you gave another nothing burger for us all to chew on. Which is literally all I seem to see from you.
But correct me if I'm wrong, you HAVE in the past made clear what you'd like to see. Which is the reason I logged off early and why I accuse you of pandering to Russia and advocating for the defeat and subjugation of Ukraine.
You've called for the complete cut off of all Western aid to Ukraine to force them (at the risk of destruction) to make the territorial concessions needed to appease Putin and end the war. You might have flip-flopped in this latest interview but I've seen you make that argument.
It's an immoral one. One that will lead to the most dreadful suffering for the people of Ukraine. If anyone must be forced to make concessions, it's Russia.

Americans will quickly move on. They will think that it is unfair that people in the rest of the world do not like them.
But in Denmark and the rest of Europe, these insane statements will never be forgotten.

As a Dane, I dont like that the USA have gotten anything in Greenland at all because I do not like to reward threats.
But it does seem that the USA have mostly gotten things that they already had and can now rule out scenarios that were never going to happen anyway.
China and Russia will still never be allowed to have military bases in Greenland and the USA continues to have the right to have military bases like they have had since 1951.
It is very far from 'we are going to own Greenland' but it does matter and can not just be written off as nothing.
Trump whisperers who will claim that this once again is a victory for Trump's negotiation style do, however, have to ask themselves the question. Was it worth it? Because the threats and blackmailing will never be forgotten.
The Danish officials will smile and thank the USA for the agreement but once you have threatened someone with military invasion, they will never like or trust you again.
So the USA does now have slightly stronger security rights in Greenland but as you are already seeing in Iran, the days where countries like Denmark followed the USA whenever they called us are gone and that was worth a lot more.
