Donald Trump has appointed China hawk Mike Waltz as his national security adviser, and is reportedly planning to select Marco Rubio as his secretary of state. This is a clear signal that Trump is planning to escalate the US's New Cold War against China, and potentially move towards a hot war. Marco Rubio is an anti-China fanatic, who stands for more tariffs, more sanctions, more slander, more support for Taiwanese separatism, more weapons to Taipei, more provocations in the South China Sea, and more destabilisation in Hong Kong and Xinjiang. Mike Waltz has long pushed for closer military cooperation with India, Japan, Australia and other countries in the region in preparation for war against China. This sort of escalation of hostilities would be disastrous for the world and should be firmly opposed by all peace-loving people. The strategy being pursued by the US is the Project for a New American Century - a strategy of domination, war and hegemony. The strategy being pursued by China is a Global Community of Shared Future - a strategy of peace, cooperation and development.
