I believe technology adds an engaging component to many lessons and tasks. It teaches students digital literacy and citizenship which is so important with involving technology today. It also adds relevance to what they’re learning and can help build connections. #int4ed #edtech

Replying to @nearpod
@nearpod has great activities imbedded right into your slides! Some include open ended questions, matching, polls, collaborative boards, and so much more! This makes it easy to check student understanding throughout your lesson rather than waiting until the end #Int4ed #edtech

Plickers is a great tool for formative assessment. Teachers can ask a question at the end of each class as an exit slip and use Plickers to record answers rather than paper and pencil. Makes it easy to keep record of student responses too! #Int4ed #edtech

A2. Some strategies I try to implement are deep breathing exercises or taking a break from what’s making me anxious. #SaskEdChat

A6. I think schools need to be more open about mental health because it impacts so many of us. I think it’s also important to have a list of resources available for anyone who might be struggling with mental health. #SaskEdChat

As a preservice teacher I would love to hear some educators speak to this! #saskedchat
Q5. What are some strategies you are using in your classroom/school to help students with their feelings of anxiety during this time? #SaskEdChat

A1. This cold weather makes me feel a lot less motivated to do anything. It definitely effects my mood a lot! Combine it with Covid and it has an even bigger impact. #SaskEdChat

I’m Madison and I’m a preservice teacher at Brandon University! I’m avoiding the cold weather by staying warm inside since my classes are all online. #saskedchat

One thing I learned today was the many uses of Padlet and how useful it is for discussions about sensitive topics so students can say what they want to say but remain anonymous. It also works great for jigsaw activities #Int4ed
