this is SO real
i’ve been exploring new career opportunities lately and some of these SMM job descriptions are actually insane
strategy, content, design, video production, growth, partnerships aaand apparently one person should do it all
and then you look at the salary HAHAHA
the pay rarely reflects the amount of work they’re asking for
really makes me wonder what their expectations are based on
Had an interview recently with a well established project for a social media role and got a take away task that will take "a few hours to complete".
The task entails:
- A GTM strategy for an upcoming project launch.
- A week's complete content calendar.
- Produce all posts (videos, images) for that week.
- Showcase all the ways I would grow the channels after launch (paid ads, partnerships, etc).
This isn't a few hours work and a GTM strat for a entirely new project launch isn't what a SMM should be creating, that's a Head of Marketing / CMO's role.
