Just spoke at @GlobeWomen in Basel, lot of discussion abt quotas & targets being essential. I stressed need for women chairs, & not just directors, as it is the Chairs who determine diverse thinking #GSW2019 @pacificann1231 #diversethinking @INatividad @HBochniarz

Replying to @MindyWishart @otago
Sweeter because I am getting my honorary doctor of laws from Otago University with my brilliant sister Mindy! Law is a hard and long road of striving for perfection and failing so this means a lot that you might have made a difference

NZ Asian and Superdiverse Women leaders met last night & agreed 2 publicly share their experiences of discrimination today. They were not surprised at the bloodshed. The challenge is what we do in our everyday relationships. After the burials. To make sure there will be no more.

We r not immune from racist hate attacks & we cant be complacent @ NZs high ranking on the global peace index. Some nzers of different ethnicities experience racism in this country every day. It is not alright. NZs increasing Superdiversity means more conscious actions r needed

#lawfestnz #myadvice.legal Legal tech unlikely to replace high trust relationships with/empathy from lawyers. Law firms are more than billing/Legal research tools. Being a profession means something. So does collegiality/mentoring. But Legal tech can increase efficiency/ smarts

#LawFest2018 #myadvice.legal Clients are changing their habits re getting legal advice. Lawyers have to adapt/ get better at working with AI/ stop turning up w 3 lawyers and focus on judgement and Legal instinct tasks where they beat computers/train Law students for 21st Century

Agree. This is significant. Question for me is whether there will be any further changes to the nzbora which will be announced in future.? nitter.gq/drdeanknight/status/96…
Big constnal news just announced in New Zealand today. Cabinet has agreed, in principle, to amend NZ Bill of Rights Act to explicitly provide for courts to issue declarations of inconsistency, incl process for Parl to reconsider law and respond. Full details in a month or so.
