Kenya Army has received modernised MD500 helicopters through a trilateral defence partnership involving Kenya, South Korea and the United States. The aircraft was received at the Kenya Army Corps of Aviation headquarters in Embakasi and have been fitted with advanced digital systems with technical support from the US, alongside training for Kenyan pilots and technicians.
The helicopters would enhance the Kenya Defence Forces capabilities in reconnaissance, aerial support, mobility and security operations while the partnership would further strengthen Kenya鈥檚 counter-terrorism efforts, peace support operations and humanitarian response, while deepening defence cooperation among the three countries.
