With our Combo Breaker applications officially closed, we will take a few days to discuss and deliberate. Our goal is to reach out to the chosen players early next week to discuss next steps.

Until then, we'd like to extend our thanks to everyone who applied for a spot or helped spread the word. As a team, it's always reassuring to see the excitement around this kind of initiative in the community, especially in scenes we haven't worked with before.

For those of you who are unfamiliar, we've sponsored players in the Smash scene since 2017 and have done a similar room giveaway at Shine 2019. This time we're looking to level up that experience and open our doors to the wider FGC at our favorite tournament of the year.

To answer some questions we've received: this application will remain active until sometime in mid-February to give ample time for players to submit. There's also no restriction on games we're taking applicants for, so even you old-man-game players have a shot at a free room.
Are you an unsponsored fighting game player having trouble booking a room at @ComboBreaker? We have a few extra spots in ours that will be up for grabs, free of charge. Keep an eye out here for how to apply starting this weekend.

Always glad to see our work is appreciated, plus we're looking to host another Makeshift Suite in early 2020. If you have suggestions on which tournament we should help get unsponsored players to, let us know here!

I don't think I gave proper shoutouts yet after coming home from Shine so here we go! First of all, huge thanks to Makeshift for sponsoring the hotel room for me. I probably would not have been able to come without your help so thank you so much @MKSF_birdup!!!

It's true that our sponsorship of Ryobeat will come to an end this year. And it's also true that he's passionate player and stupendous social justice advocate that any team should be grateful to add to their ranks.
