Soros Fund Management launched when George Soros was 43. Julian Robertson didn’t start Tiger until he was 48. Jim Simons was 50 when he started the Medallion fund. By pretty much any measure, these three belong in the top 5 or 10 best hedge fund managers ever. Things to keep in mind if you haven’t hit your stride by ~30.

We've gotten very good at measuring prosperity by net worth. But what about the prosperity of the heart and soul? That kind of wealth can only be built by what we give, not what we keep. I talked about the value of giving in an interview today with @andrewrsorkin ahead of the J.P. Morgan–Robin Hood Investors Conference on October 21. Watch the full interview here: cnbc.com/video/2026/10/13/wa…

The most interesting thing about this clip isn’t that it’s AI, it’s that people claim to remember having seen this film when they were little.

How beautiful is this spotless 1960s street in England. Neat terraced houses all with their original wooden windows, and all with tidy front gardens and pretty flowers instead of driveways.

Why do you think women waited for the Industrial Revolution before fighting for the right to vote and work? You think they didn't SEE those jobs? Coal mines were there. War was there. Digging ditches, building railroads, dying at 30 from hard labor…that was there for THOUSANDS of years. They were QUIET. No protests. No "we want equal rights to work in the mines." Then suddenly... factories. Offices. Chairs. AC. Typewriters. Safe, clean, indoor work that men invented with machines. NOW it's "We deserve to work! We deserve to vote!" we are oppressed. Feminism wasn't a random awakening. It was a planned movement timed perfectly for when being a man stopped meaning hard labor and started meaning privilege. They didn't want equality with men. You wanted equality with the REWARDS men created AFTER they did all the suffering
Why are we not encouraging our girls to pursue jobs like this? We need true equality

My grandfather doesn’t believe in retirement homes. He says they’re too expensive and the food is bad. Instead, he’d rather check into a luxury hotel near the beach. When we asked him about the cost, he said, “If I stay at a nursing home, it’s $200 a day and no one visits. If I stay at this hotel, it’s $100 a day. I get room service, a pool, and my grandkids visit me every weekend because they want to go to the beach. Plus, if I die in the lobby, the hotel manager will actually be upset.” At the nursing home, they just call it ‘Tuesday’.

With copper at $6.85 per pound, the melt value of a pre-1982 penny is 4.46 cents. Even modern pennies, made mostly of zinc, have a current melt value of 1.07 cents. Pennies are a much better investment than Treasuries. They're not only risk-free, but the upside potential is huge.
