On bottlenecks: 1) economists have been exactly right about little extra growth despite very fast tech change. They thought a group of econs I organized were crazy >2 yrs ago at the AI labs when we said "1pp extra growth/yr through 2030". 2) bottlenecks *still* not understood 1/8

Anglicized Native American names are by far the best place names in the US. If we're going to go around randomly renaming things we should be switching to those. Consider how much better Manhattan is as a name than New York, or how much better Kentucky is than West Virginia.

I think AI will be a transformative technology like the internet by which I mean it will buy us another 2-3 decades of 2.5% GDP growth.

The absolute evil genius of the safety team at Anthropic. You want to stop open the Chinese government from releasing open weight models? You could ask nicely. Or you could whisper the words “abliterated GLM 5.3” where the public security community can hear it.

Okay, so saying Superintelligence and 'Super Intelligence' now both mean the AI in question is smarter than you, but for different reasons.

Announcing Sparrow Infrastructure. AI will define this century, but there's a physical and cultural gap between policymakers and people building the technology. We're going to fix that. Come to The Overhang, our first conference. It's about forecasting and futurism in DC on Sep 19-20. theoverhang.ai More tomorrow.

If we ever have an AI risk color scale like the terrorism threat level, we gotta call the highest threat color "rouge."

Building software by prompting agents without ever reading or editing the code directly isn't actually a new thing. It's just called being an engineering *manager*. We have decades of experience about how to be effective as engineering managers. It is a different skill, though.
