American odds are no longer available on Novig.
While percentages may not be native for sports fans today, moving away from sportsbook-style odds is another step toward building a product that looks like what it is: a financial market.
We are committed to making the transition seamless for our members. If you're used to American odds, our team built a tool to help make the switch: tools.novig.com/odds-calcula…
There's a lot to say about the new @Kalshi maker fees. But I think it's valuable to look at a tangible example. Say a user wants a 2 leg uncorrelated combo of 50-50 legs, fair price 25%. A maker is willing to go for the lowest positive margin possible. The economics of the trade for each side:
Maker:
-quotes 25.8c to the taker
-pays fee 0.68c
-all in cost of 74.88c (fv 75c)
-profits 0.12c per share
Taker (who doesn't even get any indication in their slip that they are paying fees at all):
-quote comes in at 25.8c
-pays fee of 1.34c
-all in cost of 27.14c
-loses 7.9% of every dollar they put in
Kalshi:
-collects 2.02c/share without taking any risk in the transaction
For those of us who used to do this thing called sports betting, you might also call that +268. The classic sports betting example would be parlaying 2 -110 legs at +264. Plus you could get some crowns, odds boosts, and other fun perks.
Was @mattkalish right the whole time?
A 55% candidate wins a presidential election: Kalshi called it! Get your news on Kalshi!
A 5% candidate wins:
Yesterday Kalshi priced the Wisconsin Democratic Primary at 95–5. The 5% candidate won.
Before the "prediction markets got it wrong" headlines roll in: a 5% probability doesn't mean it won't happen. It means it should happen 1 in 20 times. If 5% candidates never won, the markets would be broken.
The Washington Post analyzed prediction market calibration on hundreds of primary races — here's what they found:
greatest hedging opportunity of my life
The 2026 World Cup was the largest financial event sports has seen to date
$40B in GDP impact. $10.5B on ad placements. $500M in kit sponsorships
Exposure that has historically been expensive to price and difficult to hedge
Kalshi markets change that: kalshi.com/wc-hedge

This is why people call sportsbooks a scam ‼️
My Discord subscriber had a $45,000 Argentina World Cup future with @bet365.
Bet365 limited his account, voided the bet, told him to place the same bet on a new account at the original odds, then restricted that account so he couldn’t place it.
They then closed his complaint. Btw, a multi-billion-dollar sportsbook trying to dodge a $45,000 payout is greedy af.
@bet365 Explain this shit 🤨
