An unacceptably long wait for the check-in at @British_Airways counter at Mallorca Airport. Only one person checking in the Euro Traveller queue. 3 people for the BA various privilege traveller of which there seem as many of not more. We've been in the queue for 40 mins!

"There are no Amish with autism" There are "Vaccines aren't tested against placebo" They are "MMR has never been studied as a possible cause of autism" It has. It's not the cause. I apparently need to say this stuff over and over and over and over again. And again.

For those with conveniently selective short-term memory, let me remind you. Since February 24, 2022, Russia has launched over 10,000 missiles at Ukraine of nearly every type it possesses: cruise, ballistic, aeroballistic, anti-ship, tactical, and strategic. On top of that, over 50,000 kamikaze drones, mostly Iranian-provided Shahed-136s.. Dozens of massive strikes targeted power plants, substations, combined heat-and-power facilities. The result: an entire country plunged into freezing darkness. The winter of 2022–2023 became a national trial by ice and fire. Ukraine had exhausted its old Soviet air defense stocks. The country stood on the brink of total blackout and societal collapse. Hundreds of civilians were killed in this punitive campaign of “freezing the khokhols to death.” Nearly all thermal and hydroelectric plants were destroyed. One day, amid countless other war crimes, a Russian missile strike deliberately leveled a children’s cancer hospital (!!!!) in central Kyiv. And still, every day and every night, missile and drone strikes rain down across Ukraine, killing people by the dozens, burying them beneath the rubble of their own homes, consumed by fire. How anyone still has the sheer audacity and moral rottenness to open their filthy, festering mouths and talk about how Russia will now deliver "retaliation" to Ukraine -- for the destruction of missile-carrying bombers -- is something I will never be able to comprehend.

Winston Churchill visiting the WH in 1942. Not wearing a suit. 🇬🇧 🇺🇦
Q: "Why don't you wear a suit?" Ukrainian President Zelenskyy: "I will wear costume after this war will finish."

Respectability in dress is stupid bc it masks the issue. Such judgements are rarely about the clothes, but rather about the bodies underneath. Would Trump and Vance acted politely if Zylenskyy showed up in a suit? Unlikely. No one raised an issue with Elon in t-shirt and topcoat.
Replying to @dieworkwear
Well....dressing is also all about knowing your audience too, right? Anyone advising Zelensky would be smart to tell him showing up to meet Trump in pajamas is going to get you off to a bad start.

Trump and Vance act as if the problem is that Ukraine is resisting an ongoing Russian invasion. The problem is the ongoing Russian invasion. If they want to use American power to stop the war, apply it to the aggressor. Abusing the victim is not going to end a war of aggression.

Yes, this is definitely the first case in human history that a nation bleeding out under attack has a knife by its throat from yesterday’s biggest friend in need that went bonkers and switched to Al Capone-style racketeering amid war.

At CPAC, Elon Musk claims that Ukrainians are dying on the front line “for the biggest graft machine I’ve ever seen.” He provides no evidence for this, nor does he betray any understanding that Ukrainians are fighting for their freedom, in a war not of their choosing.

Interestingly, NATO has been 130 km away from Saint Petersburg for over 20 years, and it has been totally okay all those years. The half of the Black Sea coastline has been under NATO for decades, and it was totally fine. Russia's Kaliningrad has been surrounded by NATO countries for over 20 years. Sweden and Finland (with over 1,000-km common border with Russia) join NATO, and Putin couldn't care less - no threat at all, in his words. But when it's Ukraine, which NATO refused to accept for like 20 years and doesn't want now, it is a "grave existential threat" to the world's biggest nuclear power, because of which it had to unleash the deadliest European bloodbath since WWII involving the North Korean military. Believe it or not, but it feels like it was never about NATO for Russia.

A Trump shill on Newsnight claims there are more people in prison in UK jails for freedom of speech violations than in Putin’s Russia. These people are radicalised, insane, plain stupid or some combination of all three.

Trump claims the USA has spent 3 x more than Europe on Ukraine. FALSE Europe has spent $20bn MORE than the US on Ukraine Trump claims Zelensky has net popularity rating of 4% FALSE Z’s popularity is 50% But the most dangerous lie is Trump’s claim that Putin can be trusted.🇺🇦

Pretty disturbed by some of the framing being widely used on the Trump talks. It’s as if the genesis of the war is entirely forgotten. This isn’t a conflict which needs mediation. It was an illegal unprovoked act of aggression. It could end tomorrow if Putin just withdrew.

Europe had better realize that the US under Trump is not an ally and not even a friend.

I keep getting people ask me "why has no one publicised that they've sneakily reduced the higher 40% income tax rate to £37701!?" They haven't. In general you don't pay tax at 40% until your earnings are over £50,271 (and then only on the amount above that). People are getting confused because of how it is displayed. Most get a personal (tax-free) allowance of £12,570 Then you can earn £37,701 at the basic rate. Which means you start paying the higher rate at £12,570 + £37,701 = £50,271 as it has been for the last few years.

Women have fought, bled, and died for this country so naturally, Trump and his fragile little cult decided to erase them. The same ‘patriots’ who scream ‘support the troops’ just deleted every woman who served. Weak men fear strong women, that’s all this is.

BREAKING -- Trump says he's kicking undocumented immigrants out of Social Security. One small problem, though -- undocumented immigrants are ALREADY ineligible for Social Security benefits. You know, because they don't have Social Security numbers. Because they're undocumented.
