I love to crochet hats and give them to my family, friends and people in need ❤. But this picture my friend sent me of her baby boy wearing one of my hats, made my heart smile. #thelittlethings #crochetlove #heartsmile

Yesterday we took a chainsaw to our congressional maps. After 12 hours+ of work we have a basic architecture that reflects a lot of coi input and gets close to meeting our constitutional requirements. In future we will take a scalpel to make refinements. #Redistricting (/1)

This could arguably be the best news I've heard all day. #unselfish #leadershipmatters
Breaking: Rajon Rondo plans to sign a one-year, $2.6M deal with the Lakers upon clearing waivers today, sources tell @wojespn.
I have so many great memories of growing up and watching Andre Tippett. A class act and a great role model-- a big THANKS, Andre. You are still my favorite Hawkeye!

And a GREAT draft it was. We are all breathless with anticipation for the upcoming season!
On This Date ... The Kings selected Anze Kopitar and Jonathan Quick as the 11th and 72nd selections, respectively, in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft. #FBF
We need more Coach Bertka's in this world; a living legend. He is responsible for some of that stuff they called Showtime :)
93 years old and still part of pre-draft workouts. The legendary Bill Bertka 🐐
Over the weekend marked the 157 year anniversary of The Civil War Battle at Kennesaw Mountain. My GG Grandfather McNeese was wounded there. He enlisted in 1861 w/ The Union Company A, 15th IA Infantry. He also felt the effects of his wounds until his death nearly 45 yrs later--
I've known Coach Raveling since I was 11 years old; he continues to bless us with daily words of wisdom. As always, thank you, Coach.
Happy Birthday Orwell; a great reminder to all of us of things that can get in the way of democracy.
He warned of Doublespeak, The Big Lie, and creeping totalitarianism. Celebrating the enduring wisdom and genius of George Orwell on his birthday. He was born June 25, 1903. #georgeOrwell
McEnroe- he continues to be the passionate competitor.
This McEnroe outburst is 𝙨𝙩𝙞𝙡𝙡 iconic 40 years on 🗣 #WimbledonThing
Proud to join @metrolosangeles for the groundbreaking of the Airport Metro Connector! This moment has been a long time coming and the start of a new station on the Crenshaw/LAX line that will connect residents to the airport by train, bus, bike and car.

A wise man once told me that the most important thing in life is parenting. And second only to that is building democracy; voting rights has a lion share of that.
Voting rights are the bedrock of our democracy. Share if you agree.

And a big THANK YOU for your leadership, Mr. Mayor.
With 99% of seniors vaccinated in Long Beach and over 67% of eligible adults - we can meet President Biden’s goal of a 70% vaccination rate by July 4th. #WeCanDoThis
Rafa continues to impress me on clay. He's arguably the best that's ever played on it.
that's a 98.13 win % for you math majors out there.
In many ways we are sadly coming up on an end of an era in tennis. And I'm reminded of another that I witnessed as a young boy- Yannick Noah, the last player to win a Grand Slam with a wooden racket, at the 1983 French Open.
The article pretty much encapsulates what I heard in my last two conversations with Stu-- his perspective is an interesting one.
Good piece about the great Stu Spencer: “Stuart Spencer has already seen enough. In November, he voted for Joe Biden for president—the first Democrat he’s supported since Harry Truman in 1948.“ latimes.com/politics/story/2…
We are saddened to announce the untimely passing of our former General Manager Steve Zurn. Steve cultivated a 34 year career with the City of Glendale as Director of Public Works and GWP General Manager. Our thoughts are with his family and loved ones during this difficult time.
