Jacksonville State just scored a touchdown and immediately did a choreographed leapfrog dance/celebration to draw a 15-yard penalty. Worth it.
I'm a little disappointed we haven't talked more about the various catwalks at Tropicana Field and the ground rules for each.
It could be fun over the next five to 10 years to watch a burgeoning #STLCards farm system contend with a Brewers roster that will still have Cooper Pratt, 22, Jacob Misiorowski, 24, and Luis Lara, 21.
31!
In case you didn't know, Arkansas wide receiver Monte Harrison is 31 years old. He played pro baseball for 10 seasons and caught a 37-yard pass against Vanderbilt.
Pretty sure he'll be the oldest player #Mizzou will face this season.

If there was a Mount Rushmore of ball writers, Ross Newhan would be on it. He was a giant in the biz, a Hall-of-Famer who spent much of his 43-year career covering @MLB for the LA Times. He was a mentor to myself and so many others, a friend to all. Ross died today at 89. RIP💔

"The warning signs were there, the evidence was impossible to ignore and now all the B.S. has caught up with USC coach Lincoln Riley."

Maryland athletic director Jim Smith makes $1.5 million per year to run that department into the ground. These student journalists are standing up to him for zero compensation, I imagine. That's how powerful the light can be and how frightening it is to bad actors.
For @testudotimes, @JudeWilkenfeld and I were outside Jones-Hill House trying to get players to comment. An athletics staffer took pictures of us, and a police dispatch was called for suspicious activity; a cop and 2 cop cars pulled up, and officers ID’d us and asked us to leave.
It's amazing how far people in positions of privilege will go to keep their activities in the dark. Don't let them.

Three of the four teams left in MLB playoffs were bottom 9 in home runs. Those three teams have among the most-respected front offices in MLB. Starting next year, more teams will try the contact-and-run suppression approach but the smart teams will be on to something else.

#Mizzou HC Eli Drinkwitz on RB Ahmad Hardy:
"Contrary to what’s on the cesspool of message boards … There’s no update. He hasn’t began a 2-week ramp-up. If he practices, I promise I’ll tweet it out. I won’t even get it to Pete (Thamel). We’ll just do it ourselves."
To be very clear: He was joking and good-natured about the cesspool reference.
Great scenes and insight in this story by one of the best baseball beat writers out there.
The Padres were on the brink months ago. Then Michael King brought the team together, and Manny Machado spoke up. Ahead of another elimination game tonight, here's the story of how a sushi dinner might have helped them turn things around: nytimes.com/athletic/7662476…
Good thing Doug Eddings isn't behind the plate for Yanks-Red Sox. Sonny Gray's hat is basically sideways.
Subtle.
The Eli Drinkwitz Chopper has arrived at Francis Howell Central to check out Mizzou 4-star tight end commit Jack Brown @JackBrown1795 as the Spartans take on Troy Buchanan.

To try and guard against getting emotional in his first game back at Busch Stadium as an MLB manager with the #SFGiants, St. Louis native and DeSmet grad Tony Vitello visited the stadium earlier today for a jog on the concourse. He said each section of seats provoked a memory.
He had a great first offseason.
Arte Moreno meddled in areas he shouldn't have, says @MikeDiGiovanna.
"I hate to use this word, but he's been hated in Orange County. He's turned into a villain."
