🍎The demand on emergency food relief at our Lanyon food pantry has ⬆️⬆️ since 2022. On one day, last month, we had 80 🧓👨‍👧ppl ask for help. Already, in the first weeks of 2025 - demand is up 30% on this time last year. The 2024-25 funding bump must continue into the future.

NSW faces a housing crisis requiring immediate, decisive action. The NSW Opposition has offered to the Government to join a bipartisan round table to reform the planning system. I’m pleased that the Premier has indicated a willingness to engage with us. dailytelegraph.com.au/news/n…

This morning, @markparton was elected unopposed as Speaker of the ACT Legislative Assembly 🗳️ Congratulations Mr Speaker! With Andrew Braddock as Deputy Speaker, they are the second Speaker-Deputy duo in our history where neither member comes from a governing party

After 23 years of Labor, I encourage Canberrans to back @ElizabethLeeMLA by voting Liberal. Elizabeth offers modern leadership, with policies to increase housing, help small businesses & ease cost of living. Her’s is an inspiring example of Australian success. May it continue.

Thanks @markparton for coming along to my mobile office this morning! As Shadow Minister for Housing, Parto is on the front lines of the housing crisis in Canberra. We have our work cut out for us to fix Labor and the Greens’ mess!

Today’s numbers show that rents in our part of Canberra are at record highs. According to CoreLogic, median weekly rent in the Inner North is now $688/week. We need a new, smarter government that takes housing affordability seriously. Source: corelogic.com.au/news-resear…

I visited Oaks Estate, on the edge of Kurrajong, to find out why housing is so much more expensive on this side of the border.

A really friendly and busy mobile office down at Chisholm with @markparton and one of our fantastic candidates for Brindabella Sandi Mitra yesterday morning. Many locals keen for a change of government in October! – at Canberra, Australian Capital Territory

It was great to sit down with @jamesglenday (thankfully helped with the height difference for the cameras!) to discuss the issues that will be important for Canberrans in the lead up to the October election. Read more here 👉🏼 abc.net.au/news/2024-03-01/a… – at Canberra, Australian Capital Territory

In an epic piece of spin, ACT chief minister Andrew Barr has “announced” construction of the tram line across Lake Burley Griffin to Woden won’t even start until 2028 and will finish in 2033. At which point, presumably, the Labor government will be entering its 32nd year in power

Question. Serious: why is it acceptable to mock a person for their age but not acceptable in any other area ? Fat shaming is frowned upon. Age shaming is embraced. Why?

Many Canberrans tell me daily that Labor and the Greens do not listen and do not respect them. Hundreds of millions of dollars down the drain and essential government services not delivered. This October, we have a chance to change all this.
