MMT tells you a monetarily sovereign nation can issue all the currency/debt it wants and nothing will happen, claiming that currency and market volatility can easily be eliminated by cancelling the capital account. This nonsense can only be promoted by someone that does not understand that the currency collapse and creditworthiness slump are driven by domestic citizens and savers rejecting the local currency; it is not an evil conspiracy of foreign investors. Furthermore, no nation is monetarily sovereign. It always depends on demand. Try to force use or restrict flow, and the currency is worth nothing. And local citizens are the first to reject an increasingly worthless currency issued by an irresponsible government. You are welcome

It has always fascinated me how people buy into socialist lies that destroy their currency, their nation’s creditworthiness, and, with them, their wages, savings, and well-being—then call it all “social” and blame markets for the consequences. It’s like bingeing on junk food, ending up in a coma, and blaming the supermarket. #Brazil currency, stock market, and bonds plummet.

I’ve worked with the EU. I’ve seen the institution up close: increasingly authoritarian, anti-democratic and contemptuous of national sovereignty. I voted for Brexit. I’d vote for Brexit again. Mass migration. Erosion of Western values. Deindustrialisation. Power shifting ever further from voters to an unaccountable European political class. Brexit didn’t fail. Brexit was never properly delivered. It was squandered by an inept, disloyal political establishment, and now that same establishment wants to use its own failure as the excuse for an undemocratic U-turn. Britain voted to leave. The answer to a botched Brexit is not surrendering our sovereignty back to Brussels.

The point of no return by Richard von Mises is worth reading: "A state becomes almost unreformable when the majority of the population is financially or structurally dependent on the state (state employees, civil servants, recipients of subsidies, grants, or transfer payments, etc.). As soon as those who net benefit from or are supported by the state outnumber those who do not, the system blocks reforms, since the majority votes out of self-interest for the preservation or expansion of state services." Does this sound familiar? Some European countries, France, Belgium, Finland are already way beyond that point, closely followed by Germany, Spain, Austria and Italy. It works for a while, as long as markets buy more sovereign debt at reasonable interest rates. The party ends when they stop though. For France, they stopped this month, Belgium will be next. The longer the socialist illusion persists, the more painful the inevitable cuts and adjustments will be. It’s pure arithmetic. Good luck Europe, good luck Euro. Buckle up, it won’t be pretty.

Mohammed Yousaf is a solicitor in Bradford. He was caught on camera offering to help people fraudulently avoid fines for employing illegal workers. I wrote to the Solicitors Regulator calling for him to be struck off. They have now confirmed they are investigating his actions.

Meanwhile, UK police refused to arrest an imam who urged Muslims in the UK and other Western nations to take up arms and carry out “preemptive strikes” against “white people and infidels.” The double standard is unbelievable.
JUST IN: UK police arrest 15 y/o boy, seize his devices, & collect his DNA after he posted photo of a local politician edited to look like a rabbit.

Tony Smith has worked in border enforcement for 50 years; he makes some excellent points: 1) Leaving the ECHR alone will not stop the small boats. You will, at minimum, also need to amend (or repeal) the Human Rights Act and Modern Slavery protections. 2) Border force should be able to detain migrants indefinitely; unless they agree to a voluntary return or produce the necessary documents — 98% of small boat arrivals arrive without a passport, they are told to throw their passports, phones and any other documentation into the sea by the smugglers, as this makes it essentially impossible for the Home Office to determine who these people actually are. 3) Successive Governments have lacked the political will to amend UK legislation and return to the system we had from the 1970s to the 1990s; which allowed border force to detain and deport people quickly. 4) The House of Lords is a big barrier to tightening immigration and asylum law, as they are sympathetic to the wishes of migrants and asylum seekers over the wishes of the British public.

Let me get this straight. The same people that complain about the cost of living think that more government spending, more money printing and more migration will solve it. Fascinating

Let that sink in. Grip zoek.officielebekendmakingen… #bijstand #statushouders #migratie
