Last night I gave a lecture on La Jetee to a prison classroom and basically everyone in the class loved the movie. People who try to tell you that difficult or experimental art is only for educated nerds are wrong, that’s just shit that giant corporations want you to believe.
I watch a lot of movies, let me put it to use. For $5, I'll hand pick 10 recs for you and write a little something about each one. Welcome to jptv.
100% of the proceeds will go towards funding my next project, a music video/short film, Big Time Sadness. Link in bio!

Why did they use ElevenLabs to make an AI-generated voice of William Greaves for ONCE UPON A TIME IN HARLEM…? One of those decisions that is incredibly pointless, and you can tell it’s AI! It sticks out like a sore thumb, especially in a theater with a good sound system!

Just because documentaries aren’t “real” doesn’t mean they can’t be compelling. I once watched a documentary about a Chinese man named Wong Fei-hung who bravely fought Manchurian overlords and US imperialism. It was incredibly moving. Wherever he is, I hope he’s doing well now

They are gearing us up for neo-neoliberalism
“I’m old. I’ve paid my home off,” said Ray Warner, a 72-year-old Akron resident. “Why would I pay property tax?”
Across the country, homeowners are asking the same question and revolting against property taxes at a scale not seen in a half century.
