My daughter played a year of juco- 3 at the D1 level, watched all these kids around her get a juco year back, multiple years beyond 4 and now gets the door shut after 4 years. Class of 2022 gets the short end of the stick.
All these fourth year seniors have the best case to put in front of a judge than any player in the last 30 years they had to play against fifth year guys their entire careers because of the Covid rule. They were the only class to not get a fifth year now to be told that all future classes will have five years, but not them there isn’t a judge in the country that’s gonna rule against one of these players this is the biggest Slam dunk easy case any Attorney in the country will ever take every fourth year Guy will get an extra year. Don’t listen to what the NCAA is trying to tell you.

So you’re telling me… My class who played 4 seasons in 4 years and had to play WITH and AGAINST 5th, 6th, 7th year guys, fight for roster spots/scholarships, etc… AND NOW. You’re telling us we can’t get a 5th year but everyone after us can?? Weird…

Proposed NCAA eligibility updates appear to be saying screw the class of 2022 in particular lol.
NEWS: NCAA President Charlie Baker told ESPN today that he’s “pretty optimistic” that the new aged-based eligibility proposal will happen. The DI Board of Directors met today and will recommend to not implement this rule retroactively for graduates/exhausted eligibility. “If you’ve used up your eligibility, you’ve used it up,” Baker told ESPN of the tenor of the discussion.

Congratulations to Mattie Machen on being named 2026 ASWA All-State!
She is only the sixth player in program history to be selected. This is a fitting conclusion to a remarkable high school career.

Congratulations to SGB Veal 2026 Mattie Machen, Mortimer Jordan HS on making the Northwest Regional All tournament team.
What an incredible journey the last 8 years of @mojogirlshoops has been. The ups, the downs, the highs, the lows, the wins and the losses have all been a part of our girls’ growth and development. This HS basketball journey came to a close today, but the memories and lessons learned will last a lifetime.
We never planned on being basketball parents, but it has been an honor to support our girls as they pursued their passion. We definitely didn’t plan on having not 1 but 2 girls wanting to play collegiately, and we couldn’t be prouder of their accomplishments.
In the last 8 seasons of which our girls started in 6, the teams achieved 3 Elite 8s, 4 or 5 sweet 16s, and 6 area championships. Bellah achieved over 1700 points and Mattie achieved over 1000 points and 500 rebounds. Together they had multiple D1 offers/recruitments and 20 or more full scholarship offers and it would’ve been more if we didn’t shut down recruitment , a testament to their hard work and dedication.
It’s always bittersweet when a chapter in life comes to a close, but we are excited to see our Mattie continue her basketball journey at Lee University while Bellahs collegiate career is soon to end at UWA. Thank you Mortimer Jordan for the last 8 years. Thank you to everyone who has been a part of this journey. We hope we left it better and we hope it continues to shine.
