keeping aside the fact that her ambition is nothing to be embarrassed about, signing autographs and talking to kids is something she does on the daily. not just for campaigns. that’s why she’ll never be “fake” or pretentious like you want her to be
Taylor Swift continued her campaign for a 2027 Best Original Song Oscar nomination Nov. 1, staying well over an hour to meet more than 200 attendees, including guild members and Critics Choice voters.
The stop: a screening/Q&A/reception at Disney’s New York HQ, where the glad-handing reportedly lasted well past lunchtime.
She signed autographs for kids, posed for selfies and chatted with every guest who wanted a moment with her.
The song: her Toy Story 5 soundtrack contribution, “I Knew It, I Knew You.”
The Oscar nominations will be announced on Jan. 21.

As awards season progresses, it’s worth dispelling the myth that Oscar recognition comes effortlessly. Screenings, Q&As and interviews are standard components of any serious campaign, not exceptional efforts. They give Academy voters direct access to the work and its creators.

i adore how she emphasizes that i knew it, i knew you isn’t just a taylor swift song, but a song she specifically wrote with great respect to a musical world she studied thoroughly as it resonated with her own human experience. being a true student of the craft makes her so great
🎥| Taylor Swift explains how “I Knew It, I Knew You” pays homage to Randy Newman and the musical world of Toy Story!
She wanted the song to belong within the “beautiful tapestry” Newman had woven for the franchise, drawing on the kinds of chords and musical choices he might make.
That meant reaching for notes she described as “a little out of my wheelhouse,” stretching beyond her usual instincts out of love for his work and Toy Story.
Taylor said the song came together quickly, with Newman’s musical world giving her a foundation to explore while bringing her own songwriting to the story. 🥹

"The Odyssey" Oscar campaign is officially set to kick off in earnest the week of Nov. 9 with a run of screenings and Q&As that put Nolan, Matt Damon and producer Emma Thomas in front of voters nearly every night for two weeks.
Robert Downey Jr. will moderate the Los Angeles kickoff on Nov. 11 at the TCL Chinese Theatre, with an Imax 70mm screening. Guillermo del Toro will be on hand at the AMC Universal CityWalk session on Nov. 12. Steven Spielberg will handle Nolan at the DGA Theater on Nov. 17, in 70mm.
On Nov. 10, Universal’s Spielberg Theater will host the world premiere of “Behind the Scenes of The Odyssey,” a 75-minute making-of documentary introduced by Nolan himself. The film’s star Damon, who plays Odysseus, will moderate the Q&A afterward, which will include all the key artisan players.
