Not sure that it's as simple as that. It's not a one-way street is it? A sense of belonging allows you to risk talking in class. Putting your ideas out there & having them sensitively & generously received gives you a sense of belonging. Talk is target & strategy. They blur!

Radio, no, I mean, television, no I mean the Internet no I mean AI will revolutionize education!

Are you assuming that lessons are all unidirectional lectures from a teacher, to be received by students?

these cranky comments are nothing short of bizarre. Just why?
They need to melt faster. So do the flying monkeys with their vague takes based on nothing.

And if explicit instruction continues to gain more popularity and traction in the U.S., which it should and will because govts have a responsibility to close the achievement gaps caused by inquiry/discovery methods the last few decades, what will happen to her research? It’s DOA.

the conversation about math curriculum is never ending #iTeachMath
We have been overdue for a conversation about math curriculum, and every teacher I know sounds like this RN.

"Even in this past decade and a half, reliable descriptions of classroom lessons and surveys of teaching practices are tough to find. Sure, there are journalists who have gone into classrooms and reported what they saw.

While the dominant teaching tradition since the closing decades of the nineteenth century has been teacher-centered, each generation of teachers since the 1920s has adopted the vocabulary and selected activities embedded in the student-centered tradition

two research-driven conclusions are consistent... First, teacher-directed instruction, with a smattering of student-directed activities, governs most lessons. Second, great variability in teaching due to teacher-crafted hybrids exists." - Larry Cuban

some predictions come true
I actually like Linda McMahon for Education Secretary. Given how scripted and artificial education has become, I can’t think of a better fit.

Great news for the wealth and prosperity of the United Kingdom, and the wonderful region of Aberdeen. The U.K. has started drilling in the North Sea, one of the greatest and most prosperous areas of OIL in the World. They should go FULL BLAST!!! This will make the U.K. very wealthy again. TAKE DOWN THE COSTLY AND RIDICULOUS WINDMILLS!
