Is a function a formula? Does a correct function above answer line followed by the expression on answer line get full marks? Would you award 2 or 3? @mathsjem @MrMattock @missradders

If you're a teacher PLEASE RT this for attention. In @bbceducation's article today @tiktok_uk + @instagram claim they don't allow selling of papers on their platforms. (LOL) Please start by removing these 264 accounts I found this morning then. 🙄 docs.google.com/spreadsheets…

Help please twitter teacher PPT users. I’ve made the switch from smart notebook to PPT and overall I’m happy. But the one problem is the lack of ‘extend page’ option for lengthy calculations. Anyone got a solution to this problem? @draustinmaths @DrFrostMaths @jemmaths

I’m really looking forward to teaching proof to year 12 having read chapter 3. I’ve got so many new ideas to have a go at…starting with that beautiful semicornerless chessboard! @mrsouthernmaths @Whitehughes

Already really enjoying this. First chapter on establishing a mathematical culture is just what I need in preparation for my new sixth form groups in September. ⁦@Whitehughes⁩ ⁦@mrsouthernmaths⁩

Beautiful questions like these are why I use @mathspad all day everyday. You can’t answer them without understanding, but they’re not too difficult. I love @mathspad so much. And I will keep shouting that from the rooftops.

I discovered gauthmath today. Take a picture of your @SparxMaths and it tells you the answer. Am I late to the party?

Does anyone happen to have the answers to this lovely pythagoras stack from resourceaholic? drive.google.com/file/d/1zBe…

I really dislike teaching sampling methods. Has anyone got a wonderful resource that makes it marginally more palatable? TIA.

Anyone know of a place I can find more questions like these lovely ones from mathshelper.co.uk? TIA

I’m struggling to find a good set of practice questions about substitution involving squaring and cubing, including with negatives. Things like if a=3 and b=-2 find 4ab^2. Can anyone help?

Is it sad that I’m quite excited for teaching expanding and simplifying tomorrow by rewriting 3(2x+1) - 4(3x-2) as 3(2x+1) + -4(3x-2)? Not sure why I’ve never done it before, and I’m hopeful that it will be EXCELLENT.

GCSE Maths spec question re: estimation I’ve always thought estimation “had” to be done by rounding all numbers to 1 sig fig, but I can’t find any reference to this in the @AQAMaths spec. Can it in fact be done using any reasonable method? @Just_Maths @mathsjem thanks

As a follow up to the interesting tweets of @Just_Maths and @missradders (my first attempt at a Twitter poll!) the abbreviation of 5+5+5 is:
39%3 x 5 (A)
6%5 x 3 (B)
55%Both of A and B are fine
0%A or B but not both

@StudyMaths it would be cool if when you’re doing example problems pairs with a class you could then press ‘practice at this level’ (or maybe, this and the next two…) and it took you to a load of questions at the level(s) you’d been doing with the class.

The students love it when we do level 1, and then move up to level 2 together, and sometimes say ‘show us level 10!!!’. So together we increase difficulty and then get to a point where it’s suitably hard and want to practise a few of those in our books for example.

Does anyone know of a platform that can provide y13 maths tutors? We are losing a teacher (to the private sector) who teaches the main chunk of our y13 maths content at Christmas🤦🏼‍♀️ @1stclassmaths @mathscpdchat @Maths4Everyone @Just_Maths @DrFrostMaths @nrichmaths @ATMMathematics

@StudyMaths I’m keen to use mathsbot more, but often shy away because I lack familiarity with it. So I definitely need to just start going for it and getting to know it. So you might get a few questions from me heading your way!….

When I’m using your example problem pairs on mathsbot, and then I press ‘practice’, is it always the same difficulty for 1/2/3 stars no matter which difficulty level I’m doing the eg/prob pairs?
