Less traffic allows for higher speeds. Pair that with impaired driving for wtv reason (tired, drunk, high etc) and you have a higher baseline speed with reduced judgement, depth perception & reactions. When you medz that the avg driver has poor reaction time you see the prob.

According to local reports, a masked gunman approached him from behind and opened fire at close range. Johnson, the son of reggae artist Jah Mason, died at the scene. Police launched a murder investigation. At the time of the initial reports, no arrests had been announced.
