People say "i tried my best." But how do you actually know you did?
I think there's a line, and your best is right before it. If you cross it you're overdoing it, you burn out or get hurt or end up in a state where you actually do less, so by definition that's not your best.
But you can't really see where the line is. So the only way to know you're close is to cross it a few times. If you never cross it, you’re being too careful, you're hitting the brakes way too early and you're just very far from it.
Same with learning to skate or do a backflip. If you're not falling a few times, you're not trying hard enough, and you won't learn anywhere close to as fast as you could.
For founders the fall is burning out, getting depressed, hitting a point where you just can't do it anymore for a while. And since being a founder isn't a 2 year thing, it's who you are, that line matters even more. But if you've never come close to it, never had a few weeks where you felt it, you're probably just very far from your best.
Stores are posting to Instagram more than ever.
From the 600,000+ ecommerce stores we track:
- Instagram posts per week: 2.84 → 3.05 over the past year
- TikTok uploads per week: 2.32 → 2.75
More content.
Here's the thing: publishing cadence is the easy metric, so teams measure it. But posts per week was never the KPI. Yield per asset is. A tighter calendar where every post earns its slot beats a busy calendar that nobody sees.
(And yes, I'm including LinkedIn in that. Cadence is the comfortable metric everywhere.)
If your content report shows output per week but not yield per asset, the report is measuring your effort, not your results.
Second meetup of HACKAHA was a success!
- 9 people joined;
- Sessions on MCPs for testing mobile apps, making Opus design properly, and async coding flows.
- 22 Kozel's consumed (plus 1 tvaroh)
If you're in Prague and want to join, next meetup is on the 5th of November! DM for more info.
Paid traffic fell 65% last year. Paid spend barely moved.
Run that math once and you'll see why nobody wants to talk about their paid media results.
From the 600,000+ ecommerce stores we track, YoY:
- Worldwide: paid traffic -65.4%, paid cost +1.1% → cost per paid visit is roughly 2.9x higher
- UK: traffic -78.9%, cost -10.8% → about 4.2x
- US: traffic -57.5% while cost rose 14.1%. Both directions wrong at once
Nobody's cutting budgets voluntarily. Volumes are shrinking while auction costs hold, so every click costs more than it did a year ago.
Which changes the pitch entirely. "Give us more budget" is a dead pitch this quarter. The sellable work is efficiency: conversion rate, creative testing, and landing page speed. The average Lighthouse performance score across these stores is roughly 50–53 out of 100, which is a lot of paid click spend landing on slow pages.
Same spend, better return. That's the conversation clients will actually take.
One useful trick I've found to improve my UI design is to use ASCII to design my screens.
Agents can read it, and I don't have to generate something super complex in Figma.
In 2 minutes you can draw a simple wireframe, have the agent read it without much taking up much context, and voilá!

I guess everyone knows better because they watched a video on fucking Twitter. Dear God the people here are retarded. "I watched a clip of a riot, therefore the entire country is burning down." Totally useless website.
One of the best things I do to keep focused is to cut off the outside world.
- No global news.
- No social media (X especially!)
- No national news (this is where living abroad helps)
What this does is it just makes me more optimistic. I don’t worry endlessly about AI killing my SaaS, or a drone strike hitting Prague, or whatever other crap they peddle online.
I just focus on building and growing because, well, what else can I do? lol
Starting to produce content again to grow Ecommerce Leads.
As a builder it’s easy to overthink distribution, but the truth is, it’s basic.
Just put yourself out there!
Now, of course there are layers to this. Creating excellent social content IS hard and yes it DOES require tweaking and experimenting and hard work.
But you don’t need an ultra-complicated plan for distribution. Get up, write content, publish, tweak.
Hosted the first hackaha.com meetup with fellow indie makers in Prague!
If you're around, DM me. We meet every other Thursday to talk business, product, and distribution! 🇨🇿
Just shipped Watchlist!
Track any store in your CRM. Churned customers, past opportunities, whatever it is.
And get notified whenever a new buying signal pops up for them so you can reach out (they're a warm lead because they know you so they'll convert better!)
Keep track of who you're reaching out to inside Ecommerce Leads!
With the Status column you don't need a spreadsheet or a CRM. Just update the status right there on the dashboard!
Doing everything to make selling to ecom easy again ✨

BREAKING: Spain became fastest growing country in terms of AI adoption after "AI" got rebranded to "SI".
Analysts track every every mention of "SI" to calculate AI adoption index.
Experts note that Latin America "follows closely behind" in terms of AI adoption. Nvidia, OpenAI already "expressed interest in building datacenters in Andalusia" and von der Leyen mentions "Europe is now winning the AI race thanks to Spain".

If you believe your product is the best, then you have a moral imperative to win.
Your competitors suck. Anyone who uses them is getting a bad deal.
Meaning you MUST show up and you MUST make them use YOUR product.
Because it leads to:
1 - your product winning so net-positive for everyone
2 - your competitors improving so net-positive for everyone.
Simple.
This will be the biggest product makeover for Ecommerce Leads.
After 2 years I'm finally building a dashboard!
Yes, for 2 years I had no UI. Customers just saw the reports and that's it.
So it's time to FINALLY improve that experience and add in something they can use.
One of the main reasons is actually for onboarding. Right now, everyone has to go through a call with me. Which is great for collecting feedback but I feel recently it started driving people away, and I'm not able to keep up with that many meetings.
So I want to add the option for people to try it at their own pace. They'll be able to define their ICP and signals, but the domain and decision makers for that store will be hidden (at least that's the plan).
Goal is that people can try it out and get to the "Wow that's amazing" moment faster, and also without me needing to show them why it's a great product.

a lot of people fantasize about money n status as a proxy for having freedom to do what they really want.
interesting thing is that if you're specific about what you really want, you'll often find there are more accessible paths to get there that dont require as much as u think
