Permit me, if I may, to walk you through the evolution of the @jamdotdev Jam for Mac recording toolbar. From April 24 to October 16. 🧵

October 16. The in-recording mute button is restored. Yes, it lets you temporarily mute a recording, but more importantly, it lets you know that you're recording with a microphone enabled. If you didn't select a mic, this button is disabled (and crossed out).

October 27. The public release! The recording toolbar's final form (for now). And believe me, everything in the app has received this level of scrutiny and refinement. If you want to try it out: jam.dev/download

Hey everybody, check out what I’ve been working on!
Jam for Mac is officially out - Get logs from Chrome, Safari + Electron apps - Faster on-device AI summaries + video trimming - Record up to an hour in 4K - Turn on your camera when you need it

pretty neat what can be done with agents today this animation is built entirely in HTML / CSS - Opus 5.5 wrote the rendering engine - motion blur + depth of field teaser for what's coming to @jamdotdev

Honestly so proud of these @jamdotdev onboarding screens. Please note: • the bump on the J key. • the keys are interactive. • you can switch between light and dark keyboard. • the menu bar screen uses your actual desktop wallpaper. • the real glass effect on the loupe.

Oh my god, this entire thread of deranged Shortcuts automations is amazing
You can set up your iPhone to turn its volume to 100% and play GUMMO by Tekashi 6ix9ine any time its microphone detects a baby crying

I got my old game, Pocketball (2009) compiling and running again. I couldn’t pass level 12. I convinced myself it was a physics bug. Found a walkthrough on YouTube. It wasn’t a physics bug.

Let me show you the toast system I’ve developed for the @jamdotdev Mac and iOS apps. They resemble the system style (AirPods connected etc) and come in a variety of configurations. They are automatically dismissed after a timeout, a progress completion, or never.

On iOS, they are hosted in a window above the app. This means they survive navigation and sheet presentation. On macOS, they are presented in a window that follows the main screen (the screen is re-evaluated before each new toast; a toast will never jump screen).

The macOS toasts are presented from the bottom, with a window level that is under the Dock. Here’s how it looks when one appears. I like toasts.
