Twitter infantilizes you. I am an adult. I can use my mind to read and interpret any content I choose. After 10+ years I'm leaving this platform and returning to a censorship-resistant technology: RSS. I won't be back. Goodbye.

Remember when companies delivered services instead of sermons?

For years, scientists have been hot-wiring viruses to be stronger, deadlier, and more transmissible. The bet was that their work would help prevent a global pandemic. But what if it caused one? @nicholsonbaker8 reports nym.ag/3pJcQCU

Huh. What if there was a mechanism whereby supply and demand are balanced? Maybe rhymes with 'anarchic?' Perhaps, one day, the central planners will rediscover this mechanism and then realize they're an impediment. dailymail.co.uk/news/article… cc @JeromeAdamsMD

This prompts the question: Why couldn't @USAID directly fund @SANParks? Doesn't @SANParks know what it needs to purchase to fight wildlife crime more than the planners at @WWFSouthAfrica? For all we know, these kits could be a complete waste of resources. #disintermediate
Thanks to @USAID funding, @WWFSouthAfrica donated 15 wildlife-crime-scene kits to @SAPoliceService & @SANParks bit.ly/34V6XuA Each contains: backpacks, metal detectors, toolboxes, GPS, ropes, frame markers, flags, measuring tape, cones, ballistic rods, etc.

Why @realDonaldTrump should pardon @Snowden & #Assange: 1. It will take the edge off his pardons for his family & loyalists by being unselfish and not self-serving. And at the least, confound his many critics -- as well as future historians.

Wow, finally off Ubuntu after running it in one form or another for over a decade. It's a good Linux distro, but it's time for a change!

Can the introduction of synthetic or faux substitute wildlife products to consumer markets displace consumer demand for the real thing and help to protect species? Here's a theoretical analysis that goes some way to answering this question: sciencedirect.com/science/ar…

I try to keep my Twitter feed policy-oriented and nonpartisan. However, when others, @Twitter in this case, try to determine what I can read or share, I feel it's necessary to take a stand. Here's the URL they were blocking: nypost.com/2020/10/14/email-… #RepealCDA230
"Not great?" More like atrocious. #RepealCDA230
Our communication around our actions on the @nypost article was not great. And blocking URL sharing via tweet or DM with zero context as to why we’re blocking: unacceptable.
I have concerns about this campaign as it appears to promote rarity. @WildAid analogizes the loss of rhinos to the loss of the letter 'R,' but vowels are scarce on Wheel of Fortune. That's why you buy them! Has this campaign been expert-reviewed? cc @verissimodiogo, @alegriaoc

Well, that only took @nytimes about three-fourths of a year to figure out.
The World Health Organization has long encouraged mass tourism and said closing borders wouldn’t stop the spread of Covid-19. A New York Times investigation found this policy was never based on science, but instead on politics and economics. nyti.ms/33iNUKp
This visualization tool for species might be of interest to @savetherhino and @RhinosIRF. Each dot represents an individual animal. Hence, the picture represents the population. h/t @randal_olson reddit.com/r/dataisbeautiful…
What an unbelievable level of censorship! Can we #RepealCDA230 now?
So Twitter has determined that attempting to exit the two party is not allowed. Let that sink in: we are not allowed to talk about exiting the bipartisan two-party collapse of the United States. You discover this really is the Truman show whenever you reject the institutions.
