before jackie wilson passed away, he was in deep financial trouble that would eventually catch up to him even in death, when jackie’s family couldn’t afford to pay for his funeral cost and tombstone michael stepped in and quietly helped to cover the funeral cost and tombstone, at the grammys, michael also went along and gave a heartfelt short speech about jackie, who heavily influenced michael.
