Clear, precise headlines and summaries are crucial. Take the Vivek Ramaswamy ad targeting Dr. Amy Acton, which has been called “the most outrageous, indefensible ad” in US history and “one of the worst things you could possibly do to somebody who’s been a victim of sexual abuse.”
Those quotes convey the grotesque point. Many of the headlines about the ad do not. I keep seeing headlines calling the ad “controversial,” but there’s gotta be a better way.
This People magazine headline is much more direct and informative: “Amy Acton’s Stepfather Was Charged with Raping Her When She Was a Child. Now Her Ohio Election Opponent Is Using That Against Her.” people.com/amy-acton-stepfat…

BREAKING: The 5th Circuit has ruled that ICE detainees with pending immigration proceedings have no constitutional right to a bond hearing, regardless of the length of their detention.
The en banc ruling appears to be 10-7.
