What changed @Miatsf ?
If it was wrong when you were trying to get elected. It's wrong when you're in power.
In the middle of an energy crisis, homegrown gas has a role to play in our energy security as we transition to net zero.
We’ll also invest North Sea revenues in renewables and other low-carbon projects.
My interview on @SkyNews this morning on the decision to approve Jackdaw.
Today is a great day for Shell's profits.
But a terrible day for anyone who wants a liveable planet.
And a terrible day for democracy: politicians like @Miatsf should keep to their word.

The people of Peckham did not vote for, and will not benefit from, new oil and gas drilling.
Before her election, Labour MP Miatta Fahnbulleh repeatedly opposed new oil and gas.
Now in power, it looks like she'll approve it.
Peckham deserves better.

Congratulations to @Sagal_AW on your victory.
Congratulations to @ZackPolanski on an incredible campaign.
And to my fellow Greens, what a result to be proud of!
I recognise how difficult the past few days have been for members of the Jewish community in Southwark and beyond. This is already a deeply painful time for many, as we mark the anniversary of the appalling attacks of October 7th.
To our Jewish colleagues at the council: I have written to your Staff Network and will speak at tomorrow’s all-staff briefing. I know some of you are concerned about what this means for you at work.

Developers in Southwark will now start to pay more towards community needs.
This week our Executive agreed to increase the amount student housing developers must contribute in Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL).
It’ll mean more money for transport, schools, community projects and more. This will ensure growth in our borough benefits you.

Great to see @owenjonesjourno campaigning for @ZackPolanski and the Greens in H&SP at the weekend.
He thinks @miatsf should say NO to new Oil & Gas in the North Sea.

Government has confirmed London will be given powers to introduce an overnight visitor levy.
CLF has long called for a fair share of the revenue to be retained locally & for boroughs to have a meaningful role in how the levy operates, to make sure it works for all of London.

This is excellent from @mcash - what a difference it makes when someone who really cares is in charge.
The Green Party has been in power in Southwark for 100 days.
Here's 10 achievements in 60 seconds 💪

New gas drilling could be approved within weeks. This would be a climate disaster.
The decision belongs to the Energy Secretary - our local MP for Peckham, Miatta Fahnbulleh.
@Miatsf please stand by your previous commitments. Reject Jackdaw!

It's time Parliament genuinely reflects our votes.
And with the majority of the public rejecting Nigel Farage's politics of hatred and division, we can't let a broken voting system hand him unchecked power.
It's time for proportional representation.
