We've been through this ignorant nonsense before. @ESPNRittenberg told Baylor fans they were delusional idiots for believing they could get a coach like Rhule. Two days later, with standing offers from Baylor and Oregon, Rhule chose to take the Baylor job.

2026 will be the first season in Baylor football history with two head coaches Every coaching change from 1899 to 2025 came between seasons. Even Kevin Steele, fired in November 2002, finished out the year as HC

Aranda’s Baylor season DAWG rank (of 68 P4 teams): 2020: 47th 2021: T-1st 2022: 42nd 2023: 68th 2024: 11th 2025: 66th 2026: T-20th (thru Wk 8) The only P4 team since 2019 to finish both first and last. DAWG = how a team performed relative to Vegas' expectations game to game

One factor here is the possibility of TCU and Baylor looking for coaches at the same time. Tough scenario for Baylor b/c candidate pools will be similar but TCU is more attractive for most. They may want to try and get a head start if they decide to move.
Two weeks ago, it looked like Dave Aranda was trending toward another year at Baylor. After back-to-back losses to TCU and Kansas, that is no longer the case. Brutal final sequence - very conservative by Aranda to settle for a 44 yard field goal that got blocked.

#Illini head coach Brad Underwood's opening statement after 95-91 exhibition loss to Baylor: "That was awesome. That's really good to get punched. And then get punched again. And if the first half didn't end we would still be getting punched..."

Exhibition Games do not count, but if they did, Baylor would be projected to be the top overall seed in the NCAA Tournament. Bears have now beaten both Illinois and Florida away from Waco. Incredible momentum right now for Scott Drew's team.

Joe Mazzulla says the Celtics analytics staff studied situations where teams led by at least 20 over the last decade. He says that when you’re up by 20 in today’s game, not only is growing that to 30 not a realistic expectation, but due to variance, you’re really up by 15. It will most likely shrink to 6 or 7. It comes down to how you then handle that situation.

Preseason No. 1 Florida gets tripped up by Baylor in an exhibition. All five Gators' starters played 33+ minutes, but the offense was brutal for long stretches. 4-28 from downtown. Baylor PG Kayden Mingo (31 points, eight rebounds, four dimes) has taken a major sophomore leap.

Baylor this is unacceptable. Completely unacceptable man. Every year we lose a big game at home. Why are we always so unprepared for the biggest games at home

I think Baylor should legitimately consider firing Dave Aranda tonight. Fans showed up. They've given him the roster to compete. Efforts like this against a rival, at home, with how much was riding on this game... there's no good reason to give him a shot to win his way back.

You can’t blame Baylor fans for not wanting to show up to games. Because every time they do show up and create a great atmosphere the team does this. It’s literally every time.

Baylor fans were so ready to believe, then the offense lays this kind of an egg with a QB going 11/29 so far

You can sum up what’s happening in football with one point: Line play really, really matters again. Good QBs look like trash vs elite DL in a hostile crowd on silent count. Horrid QB play a still put games away late with a ground game behind a great OL. Win the line, win.
