lemme just add onto this and say that i’m a black/latinx QUEER filmmaker and i am actively working on projects about queer people who aren’t within the gay men category. the issue is that stories that surround the “other” simply are not getting funded by studios/distributors!!!

But even then, they are financing white queer MALE stories. Multiple FEMALE or NON-MALE presenting queer filmmakers are saying studios are refusing to greenlight them. Even Jane Schoebrun said they’re having trouble getting movies greenlit. Pretty positive you don’t work in film!
