What are some of the best designed MCPs out there? I'm trying to create some of my own and realize that I'm a bit out of date with my opinions!

Outside of everything else, I love how much AI twitter has people hyping up each other. The positivity keeps me excited!

Back from vacation and can't wait to play with the new models. It was a nice break to recharge!

The speed that AI changed the whole developer landscape is something that's hard to describe. The software I'm the most proud of can now be recreated in a fraction of the time and much better, but I do miss the nights where I slowly added more and more. Mastery is different now
this post on the chinese internet by a deepseek kernel engineer explains software crafter's daily dread so perfectly

I just realized my autocorrect is.... Well creating some interesting responses 🤣

There's a golden number in here (for most it's one max subscription) where going over leads to inefficient workflows (token harder!) Constraints are the fuel to innovation
Although you pay for AI by the token, that's not the unit of inference, because you get more problem solving per token as models improve. Someone needs to define the unit, perhaps using a chain of increasingly hard problems, each pair of which can be solved by a single model.

Something I've come to realize is that "attention is all you have" is the key multiplier. We as people can only focus on a few things, and it's important to focus on the right ones. Too many projects and we lose control of the direction. It's a fun problem to tinker on!

My favorite tip from @poteto has been reframing how to talk to the agents. I haven't been able to express to my peers before she wrote about it, but instead of "fix this bug" prompting the agents to explain the issue guides a much better output!

Simple tools for agents go a lot further than I think most realize

What's a tell someone made while trying to sound like they were on top of the AI trends? I'll start, recently someone kept insisting we could could add guardrails to our MCP to catch bad actors ("Anthropic already showed this works")

AI has made me feel more like an imposter than I'd like to admit. I wonder a lot of I've actually grown as a builder or simply the tools have gotten better

Days like today remind me that there are so many things I have no control over and that's okay. Just enjoy the moment, keep building near things, and create the life you want to live.

One of my favorite goals with AI is "how can I set up enough work so I can take a quick Slay the Spire break" 😂

Someone recently told me "an idiot in motion beats a genius at rest" and that hit hard. I had hit this wall of "won't the bitter lesson of AI just come for this as well" and honestly, who cares. It's fun to do things, and even more fun to build cool and useful things.
I can’t stress enough how little an idea matters compared to the agency of the people executing the idea. I have had the privilege of knowing and sometimes even working with some of the most successful people (by various metrics). The difference between mediocre and excellent work and outcomes is predominantly one of agency. In practice this means: they dont wait for things to happen to them they go out and make things happen for them. They don’t wait for someone else to do something, for someone to teach them, for someone to give them the path, etc. They just go out and find a way to do it. I think the single biggest superpower these people have is the realization/belief that the world around them is completely mutable. Most everything that happens is because a person made it happen. I used to tell people to look around the room you’re sitting in. Look at everything. Every noun. It almost all exists because a person willed it into existence. Nothing is stopping you from doing the same. I see people online all the time dismissing someone else’s success because “I had that idea first” or whatever. I mean… yeah? If so then the difference is… you. So a bit of a self own whenever I hear that. Number one tip: act with agency.

I honestly love this and the Cursor team continue to be a cut ahead the curve for thinking about the agent experience. Also interesting to me, they're now leading the way. Previously I always thought of the product as the one to absorb ideas and then standardize them but they're first in bring the abstract "Chief of Staff" bot into the product!
Introducing Projects, a new way of working in Cursor. Rather than creating a chat for every task, you work with a coordinator agent in a single, persistent thread. Like @bot, your agent is always on, proactively manages work with subagents, and improves over time.

Something I've been thinking about all the AI slop tamhat comes out is how much we confused throughput as impact. In the past it was correlated, someone doing a lot would inevitably end up working on important things, but now everyone has a slop cannon ready to fire.

What's your favorite travel tip for an internal flight?

The AI wave is something worth riding and driving better engineering practices. The most cutting edge tech is us going back to writing better documents.
