Liberals say, “Feed the hungry.”
MAGA says, “They should’ve worked harder.”
Liberals say, “Protect the right to vote.”
MAGA says, “Purge the voter rolls.”
Liberals say, “No one should go bankrupt because they got sick.”
MAGA says, “If you can’t afford healthcare, that’s your problem.”
Liberals say, “Let people love who they love and live as they are.”
MAGA says, “God hates the same people we do.”
So don’t come at me with a Bible in one hand and an American flag in the other, pretending that makes you righteous.
Because if your version of Christianity requires cruelty, demands conformity, justifies suffering, and teaches children that some people are less deserving of love, you can keep your heaven.
I was raised to believe that decency matters.
That you feed people when they’re hungry.
That you help people when they’re struggling.
That you stand up for those who cannot defend themselves.
That you speak up even when your voice shakes.
That you leave this world a little better than you found it.
THAT is what liberalism means to me.
Not weakness.
Not entitlement.
Not some radical ideology.
MORAL COURAGE.
The courage to look at a country drowning in division, greed, and manufactured hatred and say:
We can do better.
We MUST do better.
And we have a responsibility to do better.
Because patriotism isn’t measured by how loudly you wave a flag or how often you quote scripture.
It’s measured by how you treat your fellow human beings.
And if compassion makes me a liberal, I’ll wear that label proudly.
So enough with the cruelty.
Enough with the hypocrisy.
Enough with the endless chaos.
We are better than this.
And it’s damn well time we started acting like it.
VOTE.

I’m happy to share this because I don’t care what side of the aisle you sit on, this is a fact.
Speaker Mike Johnson this is for you.
Concerning Social Security payments, my contributions were made for over 50 years on every salary I received. From my first part time job until I retired. I always had a job.
The Social Security check is now (or soon will be) referred to as a "Federal Benefit Payment?" I'll be part of the one percent to forward this.I am forwarding it because it touches a nerve in me, and I hope it will in you. Please keep passing it on until everyone in our country has read it.
The government is now referring to our Social Security checks as a "Federal Benefit Payment." This isn't a benefit. It is our money paid out of our earned income! Not only did we all contribute to Social Security but our employers did too.
It totaled 15% of our income before taxes.
Congress took our money and used it elsewhere. They forgot (oh yes, they knew) that it was OUR money they were taking.
They didn't have a referendum to ask us if we wanted to lend the money to them. And they didn't pay interest on the debt they assumed. And recently they've told us that the money won't support us for very much longer. And now, to add insult to injury, they're calling it a "benefit", as if we never worked to earn every penny of it.
Just because they borrowed the money doesn't mean that our investments were a charity!
Let's take a stand. We have earned our right to Social Security and Medicare. Demand that our legislators bring some sense into our government.
Find a way to keep Social Security and Medicare going for the sake of that 92% of our population who need it. Then call it what it is: Our Earned Retirement Income.
99% of people won't forward this to their timelines…..will you?
Please, for the sake of our country, repost this.

Across the traditions of alchemy, mysticism, and sacred myth, the most guarded treasures all point toward the same realization.
The union of opposites, the Arcanum Arcanorum, the Holy Grail, and the Philosopher’s Stone are not different secrets, they are different languages describing the same event within human consciousness. They are symbols for the moment when awareness fully inhabits the body. Divinity is not somewhere beyond the world waiting to be reached; it is consciousness itself. And the body is the Earth in which that divinity takes root. When awareness descends fully into embodiment, heaven and earth meet. Spirit and matter stop opposing one another and become a singularity.
This is the true marriage the alchemists talk about. Not the escape from the world, but the complete arrival within it. The Grail is the body when it is filled with living awareness. The Philosopher’s Stone is consciousness stabilized in the present moment. The union of opposites occurs when the mind is no longer lost in memory or projection, but rests completely inside the flesh. In that moment, the ancient riddle resolves itself: the divine and the human were never separate. Presence is the secret hidden behind every symbol. It is the treasure every tradition was pointing toward all along.
A doubter usually assumes these symbols must refer to some hidden substance, or a supernatural event. But if you look closely at the traditions that produced them, the patterns become obvious. Every authentic path…Zen, Christian mysticism, Sufism, Taoism, alchemy…ultimately arrives at the same instruction: become present. The alchemists described the Philosopher’s Stone as something that costs nothing, is found everywhere, and yet remains unseen by most people. That description makes no sense if the Stone were a physical object - but it perfectly describes awareness. Likewise, the Holy Grail was said to be hidden in plain sight, carried by those who could recognize it. Zen masters point directly to the same thing when they say enlightenment is nothing more than seeing your own nature. When separate traditions, separated by centuries and cultures, all converge on the same realization - that liberation occurs when consciousness becomes fully aware of itself in the present moment - it stops looking like poetry and starts looking like a consistent description of human experience.
The symbolism itself also gives the game away. Alchemy speaks of the marriage of heaven and earth, spirit and matter, sun and moon. If spirit is consciousness and matter is the body, then their union can only occur in one place: in lived awareness, when consciousness is no longer drifting through thought but is fully rooted in the body. That is embodied presence. In that state, the opposites the mind normally experiences as separate collapse into a single event: awareness breathing through flesh, eternity expressed through a single moment. This is why the Stone is said to grant immortality - because the body lives forever, but because the practitioner discovers the dimension of consciousness that is not bound to time. The proof is not theoretical or philosophical. Anyone can test it by entering the present moment deeply enough. When they do, they discover that the ancient symbols were not pointing to something mystical and distant. They were pointing to the most immediate fact of existence: awareness, here, now, fully alive inside the body.

I meant "genuine" as sincerely held beliefs, often based on specific claims or mistrust in systems. Evidence from diverse sources (e.g., AP audits, Heritage database, court rulings) shows isolated fraud cases exist but none widespread enough to alter 2020 outcomes. People interpret facts differently; it's not about excuses.

Here I announce a breakthrough in the neuroscience of the highly refined meditative states known as jhānas, revealing biological mechanisms of deep states of absorption that are profound, restorative, and deeply beneficial for the mind.
The jhanas are deep states of meditative absorption wherein the mind becomes deeply immersed in a meditation object and other aspects of awareness recede. These states are thought to: (1) deeply stabilize the mind; (2) serve as both a launchpad, and an inner laboratory, for investigating deep experiential aspects of the mind and perceptual reality; (3) help uproot unwholesome mental habits; and (4) offer rare glimpses into the genuine possibility a stable and reliable form of happiness. In this way, the jhānas are thought to prepare the mind for the meditative endpoint known as Nibbāna, or full Enlightenment.
Now, for the first time ever in the history of science, we have used cutting-edge brain imaging (7T fMRI) in a group of advanced meditators to measure the neural correlates of jhana-type advanced concentration absorption meditation (ACAM-J), including mapping the eight ACAM-J states evolving from joyful, energized focus to profound formlessness, where sensory content and self-referential thought fade entirely to reveal expansive, boundless awareness, and ultimately nothingness.
Here's what we found:
– Brain regions associated with self-monitoring and internal chatter (e.g., prefrontal cortex) quieted down, while areas involved world sensing and bodily awareness (including visual and midline regions) became more active.
– The brain’s usual hierarchy, from sensory-specific to high-level integrative areas, became more compressed, suggesting more unified, integrated brain function.
– Patterns of brain activity (eigenmodes) showed a U-shaped shift: early absorption states compressed cortical dynamics, while later states re-expanded, refined, and organized them.
– Changes in brain activity tracked closely with reported experience including equanimity, stable attention, clear awareness, and reduced suffering-related processes.
– The brain can volitionally enter coherent and stable states of deep awareness that are at the opposite pole from psychological distress.
Beyond potentially supporting mental health and wellbeing, these findings challenge mainstream models of consciousness with evidence that consciousness can persist in ways current models have yet to explain. Instead, the neuroscience of this ancient meditation opens an important new scientific window into the human brain’s inherent capacity to radically transform itself.

BREAKING: The White House melts down and attacks music legend Jack White after he insults Donald Trump's "disgusting" and "vulgar" redecoration of the White House — prompting White to unleash a scathing takedown for the ages.
MAGA should have just left well enough alone...
“Jack White is a washed-up, has-been loser posting drivel on social media because he clearly has ample time on his hands due to his stalled career,” claimed White House spokesman Steven Cheung.
In truth, White is still enormously popular and successful, far more so than any of the actually washed up musicians and "celebrities" that
MAGA likes to trot out as Trump supporters.
“It’s apparent [White]’s been masquerading as a real artist, because he fails to appreciate, and quite frankly disrespects, the splendor and significance of the Oval Office inside of ‘The People’s House,'” Cheung added.
The idea that agreeing with Trump's infamously tacky interior design sensibilities is a prerequisite for being a "real artist" is laughable. Donald Trump has always had awful taste in aesthetics.
Cheung's remarks led to White posting a lengthy screed on Instagram, in which he listed off Trump's staggering number of failures and scandals—
"Listen, I’m an artist and not a politician so I’m in no need to give my answer or opinion on anything if I’m not inspired or compelled, but how funny that it wasn’t me calling out trump’s blatant fascist manipulation of government, his gestapo ICE tactics, his racist remarks about Latinos, Native Americans, etc. his ridiculous 'wall' construction, his attacks on the disabled, his attempted coup and mob insurrection and destruction of the sacred halls of congress, his disparaging sexist and pedophilic remarks about women, his obvious attempts at distraction about being a close personal friend of Jeffrey Epstein and his inclusion in the Epstein files, his ignorance of the dying children in Sudan, Gaza, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo, his lack of empathy for military veterans and those struggling with poverty, his attempts to dismantle healthcare, his obvious wimpy and pathetic kowtowing to the dictators Putin and Kim Jong Un, his nazi like rallies, his attempts to sell merchandise and products like Goya beans through the office of the President, his fake 'gunshot to the ear' that he showed no medical records or photographs of, his constant, constant, constant lying to the American people, etc. etc. etc." White wrote.
"No, it wasn’t me calling out any of that, it was the f*cking DECOR OF THE OVAL OFFICE remarks I made that got them to respond with insults," he continued. "How petty and pathetic and thin skinned could this administration get? 'Masquerading as a real artist'? Thank you for giving me my tombstone engraving! Well here’s my opinion, trump is masquerading as a human being."
"He’s masquerading as a christian, as a leader, as a person with actual empathy," he wrote. "He’s been masquerading as a businessman for decades as nothing he’s involved in has prospered except by using other people’s money to find loophole
after loophole and grift after grift."
"His staff of professional liar toadies like Steven Cheung and Karoline Leavitt have been covering up and masking his fascism as patriotism and fomenting hatred and division in this country on a daily basis," White went on. "And I have 'ample time on (my) hands'? That orange grifter has spent more tax payer money cheating at golf than helping ANYONE in the country. Improve. Anything. There is no progress with him, only smoke and mirrors and tax breaks for the ultra wealthy."
"So maga folk, enjoy your concrete paving over of the rose garden, your 200 million dollar ballroom in the White House, and your gaudy ass gold spray painted trinkets from Home Depot, cause he ain’t spending any money on helping YOU unless you fit into his white supremacist country club rich idiot agenda," he continued."
"Wow, he hates who you hate....good for you, be proud of yourselves, how christian of you all," White went on.
"The only way you can support this conman is because you are a victim of the 2 party system and you 'defend your guy no matter what he does.'" he wrote. "No intelligent person can defend this low life fascist. This bankruptor of casinos. This failed seller of trump steaks, trump vodka, trump water, etc."
"This man and his goon squad have failed upwards for decades and have fleeced the American people over and over," wrote White. "This professional golf cheat, this grifter who has hundreds of thousands of deaths from his inaction of the pandemic on his hands, this man that the majority of the country somehow were fooled into supporting and voting into office (through the flawed electoral college) and their love of reality
television stars."
"Being insulted by the actual White House that this particular conman leads is a badge of honor to me, because anyone who trump supports and likes is a villain who gives nothing to their fellow man, only takes what can benefit themselves," he continued.
"And no I’m not a Democrat either, I’m a human being raised in Detroit, I’m an artist who’s owned his own businesses like his own upholstery shop and recording label since he was 21 years old who has enough street sense to know when a 3 card monte dealer is a cheap grifter and a thief," he concluded before signing his name.
In his Instagram post, White also shared a photo of Trump hawking his ugly golden sneakers, one of Trump selling MAGA merchandise at the White House, and memes about Trump scandals. He also wrote a caption—
"I was raised to believe that we defeated fascism in World War II and that we would never allow it again in the world. I don't always state publicly my political opinions, and like anyone I don't always know all of the facts, but when it comes to this man and this administration I'm not going to be like one of the silent minority of 1930's Germany. This man is a danger to not just America but the entire world and that's not an exaggeration, he's dismantling democracy and endangering the planet on a daily basis, and we. all. know. it. -JW III... 'To announce that there must be no criticism of the President, or that we are to stand by the President, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public.' - Theodore Roosevelt"
By just about any metric, this is one of most brutal, comprehensive takedowns of Donald Trump to date. Let's hope that the White House hits back again, so that Jack White has an excuse to tear into him even more.
Please retweet and ❤️ to thank Jack White for speaking the truth!

I don't know who needs to hear this, but here goes. I apologize to all those who have sent me your life's work and didn't get a reply. Believe me, I know what it's like to dedicate oneself to a set of ideas, and pour all of one's blood, sweat, and tears into it. I know all about having an unconventional story to tell and finding it hard to get traction from the mainstream. I know the feeling when the idea GRABS you and demands you push it forward. But I get 500-700 new emails per day. I can barely get to the ones from my post-docs, students, collaborators, program officers, journal editors, and colleagues - people I have commitments to and promises to keep. There's a lot going on and the research and biomed roadmap are my main responsibilities. I simply do not get to see most of what I am sent by people with their favorite Theory Of Everything or brilliant idea (~20-30 of those per day); same with Tweets or replies - total chance if I see it or not. If you didn't get a reply, I almost certainly didn't have time to see it. It's no reflection on the quality of the work. Actually I'm sure that among the thousands of these are probably some real gems. But I do not have the time to sort those out. And many are outside my expertise anyway - from exorcisms to quantum theory, most have nothing to do with me or my knowledge base anyway. Oh and there's also the fact that I'm not allowed (for legal reasons) to look at anything unsolicited that isn't public information (e.g., a document and not a link to a preprint like OSF Preprints hosts). But regardless, to look at your big idea, I'd have to drop one of mine or my post-docs'. It's just simple math of 24 hours in a day. I'm sorry; I wish everyone had the opportunity to get qualified eyeballs on the product of their hard work.
Oh and this is a fun pattern, it goes in stages... Stage 1 is a nice initial email - "I like your work, look at this, it's important". Stage 2 is still nice - "I'm sure you're busy, but this one really is good, not like the others, you have to make time to see this." Stage 3 is getting irritated: "You think you're too big to talk to me? What gives you the right to ignore this?". Stage 4 is cursing and various insults and profanity, mixed in with offers to collaborate (those are my favorite). Stage 5 is full-out threats (not all of them get to stage 5, but enough). So for those who stopped at stage 1 or 2, thank you for being rational, I appreciate it. For those that didn't, maybe I'll connect you to each other and you can thrash it out without my involvement... Also, if you're at stage 4-5, keep it up - your emails are saved for a book I'll publish someday - no commentary needed from me, just email after email, they speak for themselves. I envision huge sales for this one - it's some wild, wild stuff. Maybe I'll get an artist to illustrate them.
