most salespeople wait for the buyer to say No, then work really hard trying to turn it to a Yes. i’d rather beat them to the No. here’s why: blog.bowtiedsalesguy.com/p/b…

Once the family is set, there is a huge sigh of relief. You can take on endless risk once this is done. If you go bankrupt, they won’t even know. That’s the life hack. Give your wife and kids everything and then go crazy for your dreams.

elite salespeople are connected to their emotions when they sell. your emotional system is constantly feeding you information: tension. curiosity. frustration. a sense that something doesn’t add up. those feelings/sensations literally give you conversational threads to pull. if you’re stuck in your head thinking about what you’re “supposed” to say next, you’re missing what is happening right in front of your face.

it has nothing to do with the animation itself, but with the fact that we live in an era where everything is optimized for volume when your only goal is more output, the craft and art themselves have zero importance, or much less than before. byproduct of the attention economy
I miss traditional 2d disney animation. It's almost like a lost art at this point. It's rare to find other studios which handle animation this vigorously.

Gong 100% isn’t the fastest grower, the most AI native possible, largest TAM, etc. Doesn’t have the firepower of an Anthropic, Cursor, etc. I get it. But it’s 99% better than most companies & the people here are amazing. Single digit list of tech companies growing 50% at over a $500M run rate. Grass isn’t always greener & i’m not greedy. Pigs get fat, hogs get slaughtered.
how do we get @BrianLaManna_ out of Dino Jurassic SaaS and into AI-native GTM? need more creators in the AI space + love his content would be cool to have him report in the trenches at one of them

I’ve done this twice and it’s truly impactful
reflection + gratitude + pen & paper (NO phone) + stimulant of your choice + a clear vision of what you want + knowing exactly what you want + 6months minimum + mindset rewiring workbook = new POV on life and something 98% of people will not do

It went from being unknown to being trendy, like lots of great things, but First Principles is a healthy exercise to cut through the bs. Ask grok to walk you through first principles thinking by asking you questions on whatever your challenge is. Every business owner should try this. Kind of why Hormozi is so valued. He defaults to first principles. Somebody says “I can’t afford payroll!”Hormozi would say you have a demand issue and then break down how/why/the solution by asking questions.

Friend of mine used his social network to help his friend build a company. Which sold for 9 figures. (Will be vague, so no one can dox.) My friend expected a nice thank-you. He got nothing. That's how it goes. Get your fees up front. Nobody is going to do you a solid at exit.
The person making the intro probably learned a lesson I did. I have made life-altering introductions for people. They never sent me so much as a box of cigars as thanks. A 3-5% vig is appropriate, and it's a better deal than a 20% carry.

some advice I gave to a struggle rep: trying to sound smart is consuming the energy you need to formulate smart questions. so start by asking the stupidly simple questions. the uncomfortable ones that don’t take much energy: 🐲: Why are we here today? 🐲: What’s the problem? 🐲: Why is that a problem? 🐲: What’s the total cost on XYZ? asking questions like these will also help shock you out of the “Fearful I” that you are identified with

Here is a general framework. Try to beat it of course. 20s: unless pro athlete. Do not go into competitive rec leagues/skiing/snowboarding - injury risk/reward horrific 30s: should be done with alcohol in general. Special occassion fine 40s: should not be renting out your time

Too good of a metaphor! An overnight success waiting 4 years to happen.
Last year I printed out this paper and hung it on my wall so I’d look at it every day. MentorPass took an extra year underground, but now we’re officially having our Bamboo Year. You just have to keep believing.

there is a good chance you will learn more about life in one afternoon by taking an enneagram test and identifying successful (and unsuccessful) people who share your type. breaking down what they did, how they did it, and why... things you never thought about will become obvious
Imagine going to school and this is who you get to learn from

I hit 58% of my quota. That's the year I lost $680K in deals that were sitting at 80%+ probability in my CRM. My VP's Q4 review: "You run great discovery, but something's breaking at contract stage. Figure out what." I had no idea what I was doing wrong.

the linear approach to the life your grandparents had is gone. forget about getting good grades, getting into university, landing a job and working until retirement. it's a lie that will keep you miserable. the modern world is all about betting on yourself without any guarantees
