How do you respond to people who raise environmental concerns about Bitcoin? I sat down with @JayW132 of @BitcoinColl recently at @PumphreysCoffee. We covered that question properly, along with plenty of other business and Bitcoin topics. The full conversation and my thoughts are in the thread (and the full interview is linked there too).

For anyone who still thinks that fiat currencies are a good idea. What was it @saylor said? "Let me say it another way. People that use fiat currency as a store of value, there's a name for 'em: we call them poor."
Checking in on the fiat currency experiment.

Let me spell out what this means for privacy: Surveillance is hidden all through opaque software. You are never meant to find it. But AI can decompile, analyze, & expose exactly what your apps are doing. The age of "trust us" software is ending. Privacy revolution incoming.

I'm 100% convinced that engineers are the only people improving the world. Not politicians (lol)... not religious leaders... not teachers... not veterans... not activists... ... just engineers.

Worth watching. As always @naomibrockwell does a great job in explaining things. Smart TV screen fingerprinting. It's not a camera on the sofa but it knows wether you watched Strictly, Breaking Bad or Pepper Pig. Please check your viewing info & ads stuff in the settings.
Your Smart TV is spying on you. It’s taking 100s of snapshots a second of everything you watch, and quietly sending that data to 3rd parties. Surveillance has crept into our living rooms and bedrooms. We need to take back control.

This is striking.
Learning about bitcoin is a profoundly radicalising experience... you realise that the fiat system is extracting your time & life energy like a vampire. Burn it to the f**king ground.

Even with UK 30 year gilt yields at 6 per cent, it's not too late to take action. There is no way out of the approaching sovereign debt crisis other than through creating vast sums of new money to pay the interest. This serves two purposes - it provides cash actually to service the debt, and it creates massive and ongoing inflation via an increase of the money supply and debasement of the currency through a destruction of its purchasing power. Effectively, the debt is both 'inflated away' and also serviced by the same destructive solution. Although I have to say this is not financial advice, you do not want to be sitting in cash when this happens. One of Bitcoin's many functions is as a hedge against sovereign debt crisis, and a hedge against national currency debasement. Unlike any other currency, it cannot be inflated or arbitrarily created by a nation state or by a bank. Unlike all other monies apart from gold and silver, it is not a 'liability' money nor a payment obligation from one party to another. It simply is. This function is one of the reasons why I do what I do, and have done for such a long time. Like many others, I want as many people to get to the lifeboats in time. The lifeboats remain available for those who choose to look. Good hunting.
I believe (and have for a while) that we're in the early stages of a global sovereign debt crisis. Very early stages, mind you, and with enough time for you as an individual still to take steps to protect yourself and your family. Because not many people have seen this yet.
