comebacks became less frequent once toni kroos retired. that's all i'm gonna say.
he was the one saving the team's energy by rotating the ball in the early phases. without him, the team starts running their asses off from the jump, and they burn out, either mentally or through injuries..
don't ever question his importance to the team, because he and benzema in particular were massively impacting the team.
these are coaches on the pitch. keep that in mind.

Is that why when Madrid made the comebacks, Kroos was off the pitch when they happened? Is that also why Vini was player of the season in CL?
prediction, Pochettino and Didier Deschamps will be appointed as Real Madrid coaches.
And both of them will not stay more than 2 years.
and both of them will coach well-made teams will benefit from what Mourinho is doing right now.
discussing tactical ideas is more about how the coach creates advantages, not running basic build-up play and then posting spreadsheets like they mean anything.
there's a reason he can't win games. and it's not actually about the striker, it's more about being way too predictable in everything he does, offensively and defensively.

So a manager who's team has 2nd most distance covered per match, 2nd most accurate passes in league, xG conceeded of 10 while conceeding 10. And averaging 4.5 shots on target per match which strikers are falling to convert but yeah arbeloa doesn't have ideas
the way people talk about the champions leagues madrid won with vini. sometimes i feel like he contributed what he contributed while playing without a salary lol.
like it was some favor he did for the club or something like that.
arbeloa loses whether his team is having a good day in the office or not. his ideas have zero impactful or surprising elements, which makes him a real joke. a traditional coach in a way that really only suits second-tier clubs
i see him as another diego simeone, traditional ideas and output built on emotional fuel alone.
i feel disgusted every time i remember how arbeloa let marcus rashford make a name for himself in the clásico. that idiot doesn't even play for man united right now. anyone who cheers for arbeloa "the coach" is sus.
the thing you might not be able to wrap your head around is how every vini fan thinks any loss for alonso is a win for them. vini has literally reached the point where even his allies in the dressing room have become less invested in backing him and care less about his cause.
vini has gotten so bad that everyone started thinking he disappeared and got replaced by someone else. will any hallow win change all this? literally nothing.
xabi alonso hasn't disappeared from the spotlight even though he got sacked humiliatingly from madrid mid-season. vinicius had to drag his contract renewal talks with madrid out to the last year just so arsenal would take an interest in him as the only club.
it's obvious whose stock is at rock bottom.
there are a lot of ways you can look at it, but for me the main one should be that his other partners like lego and Accor ane ON might take a position on this, because they sell a lot in china. so if the tension keeps going in the long run, they might be forced to renegotiate.
the best strategy mbappé can go with, and i think he's gonna do it, is to stay quiet and avoid any more escalation.
mbappé is gonna be damaged severely by what happened with china, but the damage is gonna be contained.
there are a lot of factors, but most importantly, there's precedent. precedent that can make the freezes not permanent. i've seen a lot of what happened with athletes before: özil with china, messi in hong kong, and also morey's tweet in the nba. these precedents prove that this kind of restriction, this kind of advertising freeze, can slowly heal with better management in the long run.
question is, what are real madrid and la liga gonna do about this? because this is where the actual threat is coming..
well, without pacey wingers alongside you, that passing range would be useless. unlike when we talk about benzema's ability to playmake at a higher scal using his mobility and dribbling, not just his passing.
my reservation with chelsea's alonso was always the balance behind those attacks: the distances between midfield and defence can become uncomfortable when possession breaks down, and the team can struggle to control the space around the ball. alonso needs to make the rest defence more reliable, improve the protection against transitions and give his midfield a clearer reference point when the press is bypassed. the attacking ideas are there; what i want to see now is a structure that survives when the game stops going according to plan.
i've said it so many times on my ig account. vini doesn't know how dangerous he is physically and in terms of his attributes. he thinks everything gets solved with just technique and speed.
just so you can get knocked out in every round against real madrid since 2023.
Two years ago today, Real Madrid's directors were reportedly left 'furious' after finding out Vinicius Jr had lost to Rodri for the 2024 #BallonDor.
The club's entire delegation chose to cancel their trip to Paris.
After Rodri's win was confirmed, Vinicius Jr posted online, "I'll do 10x if necessary. They're not prepared", before going on to finish 16th one year later, and 17th this year.
i don't think roc nation had anything to do with this. i think it's something between mbappé and the club, coordinated to shift the blame onto tebas. they've done a lot of stuff similar to this in some ways, with vinicius using the name of racism. now they wanna use the most trending meme to make tebas lose the market in a well-documented way. so it also backs real madrid's claim that he's unfit to lead la liga. as for mbappé, controversies like this are manageable. one sponsor deal, everybody's happy, everybody forgets everything. especially on the business side, since kylian has been documented as a supporter of the chinese people and how much he loves chinese culture. there are even some chinese people pushing right now saying he shouldn't be judged and villainized over one meme. so i think the club and mbappé calculated this in a lot of ways. more of a pr stunt to trap the president of la liga in a spot where everybody should be asking questions about him.
i could be wrong, but that's how i see it.

Nice write but it could be that those frauds Madrid zone did all these while being sponsored by roc nation
i just know that what happened between mbappé and china was coordinated with the club, with real madrid. because i don't think mbappé would do what he does the way he does it if he didn't know what was coming next. mbappé has a very solid pr team around him. that's why he makes this much money. so i think it was an attempt to hurt la liga where it hurts, and tebas gets the blame for it.
like vinicius getting a ballon d'or shout for what he did against bayern after everybody was rooting for bellingham to get it. that wouldn't have happened if pérez hadn't made sure vinicius' performances in those two legs against bayern were well documented.
