Well done to all the children that participated in the cross country at Sledmere House tonight. You should all be very proud of yourselves!! 🏃♀️ 🏃♂️@beswickwatton
We have a great new virtual tour of our school.
You can watch it on our website or on our Facebook page:

We managed to get out in a break between the rain showers today to start our observational drawings.
What a lovely morning for a spot of rounders.
Y5/6 have made so many improvements in their fielding in such a short space of time!
We are happy to announce that Middleton Minis is reopening, in-line with Government guidelines, on Tuesday 27th April.
Come along for the full 2 hours or any times in between.
Places are limited to 15 adults, so will be allocated on a first come first served basis.
We’re watching the #BBCLiveLesson at school this morning. Really interesting so far!
As home learning can be intense (for you and the children!), we've decided to do things differently on Thursdays and Fridays in KS2.
On Thursdays, we'll be posting project based work which is NOT designed to be completed in a day.
On Fridays, we'll be putting up a 'menu' for the children to choose from. There will be a mix of online and offline learning in the hope that children will enjoy choosing which paths they go down. All activities are helpful to develop learning and revise concepts.
We know home learning can be tricky.
Over this week, we’ve been uploading videos for the children to use via Teams.
Of course, that’s just one way your children could learn.
As well as the videos we’ve made, we’ve updated our home learning section on our school website.
Following the Prime Minister’s announcement at 8pm tonight, it has been confirmed that all primary schools will be closed from tomorrow. Middleton school will be closed to all pupils other than children of key workers and other groups as defined by previous government guidance.
Some of the highlights in year 5/6 from the last few weeks include a virtual visit from @doyle_cat, wrapping our surprise fair presents, leading our Christmas assemblies and, of course, Christmas dinner.
#itsbeginningtolookalotlikechristmas ⛄️🎁🌲🎅🏼
Our tiny houses are coming along nicely in Year 5/6. We’re putting the shells together first and then wiring them using our understanding of electricity. ⚡️ 💡 🏠
We can’t go on trips at the minute - COVID restrictions - so, brought a trip to us via the magic of the internet.
A big thanks to Mr Egypt for talking to us about the Stone Age, showing us real Stone Age artefacts and answering our questions.

This week, we’ve been contacted with some great home learning using Lego to build the key characters in our new book ‘The Tadpole’s Promise’ then using them to act it out. Keep up the hard work! 🐸 🦋 📚
