Happy new year everyone! It's been a rough year for me personally, but I can definitely say that I'm in a better spot now than last year at the very least. Hoping to get back into streaming regularly and making some stuff for it very soon. But for now...

Someone asked me for the Armor Games intro I made back in 2008 and it made me curious if @ArmorGames still uses this... YES THEY DO! Anyway here it is in 4K (or whatever socials compress it to)

Several of us in QA were still reproing the Seraphs shield and DSC elevator crashes on different consoles/framerates late into Weds night, with a goal of verifying the fix on our dev kits Thursday. Little did we know we wouldn’t get to verify it as we were all swept up in the layoffs. 🥺 It was an honor/bittersweet to close out D2 as MoT QA lead of the Immortal title triumphs and vendors. Our MATT (most amazing test team) naturally ran thru almost 180 triumphs and all MoT vendor items/the character rendezvous/the cinematics triggering/the grass changing - one even tried to speed run it - you know who you are 😀 I wouldn’t trade them for the world and I’m so damn proud of us. We really wanted you all to feel the passion we put into making the triumph journey feel bug free and rewarding. Hope that came thru. If you played these activities thru D2 and liked them/did not hit TOO many bugs, we are glad 😌 And I say WE because it is always a team effort: - Renegades golden path - Edge of Fate Invitation intro mission and abilities (MB/relocator/translator) - Final Shape lost sectors/secrets/combo testing of Dual Destiny exotic class items - Lightfall full campaign and post game run thrus - S19 Seraphs Shield exotic mission - S18 Ketchrash 6 man activity I guess I can rest now for a bit knowing the end of this journey is here and a new path awaits so many of us. Thanks to all of you at bungie who worked with me in any way. And thanks as always to the players - you made this game really feel alive. Once a guardian, always a guardian ❤️❤️❤️
This week's TWID, and next week's patch planned for Tuesday, have been delayed. We will provide more information when we can.

Hey all, it looks like my time at Bungie is over for now. I’m glad I’ve been able to stay with Destiny until the end. I’m proud of the work I’ve done, and I never thought I would get to make things that last in the Destiny universe. See ya, Guardians!

Bungie was the dream job. I feel beyond fortunate I was able to work on Destiny 2 for the past five years, to see Marathon grow into its own, and to have met so many talented and kind people. I'd do it all again. If you need a visual/graphic designer, I'll be looking for work.

The very first thing I made for Destiny 2 was this set of sea sponges. I've since worked on things I'm far more proud of, but this one is special to me.

One of the workflows I helped advance and lead for Destiny 2 was our static compositing pipeline for marketing visuals. When we were creating marketing content for #Destiny2, we always needed strong key visuals for weapons, characters, abilities, and other in-game elements. Unlike a traditional gameplay screenshot, where everything is baked into one static image, composited shots let us isolate individual elements and light them more precisely. That gave us a lot more flexibility to build scenes with better legibility, clearer focus, stronger lighting, improved contrast, and a more intentional overall look. One of the biggest strengths of compositing is having access to individual layers in Photoshop. That layered approach not only makes the editing process easier, but also makes the final artwork much more flexible. Images can be adapted for trailer motion graphics, reworked for print, or pushed further as creative needs evolve. @DestinyTheGame composites are built using Adobe Photoshop alongside in-game captures. Using advanced development tools, we light, capture, and isolate characters, weapons, and props directly from the game environment, all of which were originally created by the talented @Bungie 3D art teams. Those assets are then brought into Photoshop, where they’re cut out and assembled into custom scenes using layered compositions and visual effects.  The composites highlighted below are a few of the Destiny 2 pieces I’ve worked on that are meaningful to me. Let me know what your favorite is!  artstation.com/artwork/q0LoQ…
