Lost of questions coming in on EHD. "Where does it originate?" Well, the virus itself is in deer (and cattle) naturally (EHDV). When a midge bites a deer, it absorbs EHDV. The EHDV then multiplies in the midge. When it bites another deer, the deadly mutation is passed.

The vast majority of hunters would be better off if they taped their magnification at 8x-10x power. Period.
Cranking it higher is one of the most common mistakes in the woods. More magnification doesn’t make you more accurate. It makes you more likely to blow a wind call. More likely to miscall whether you hit the animal. More likely to be incapable of getting a follow-up shot. And for a lot of guys, it cranks up the buck fever, because the wobble zone looks bigger and more erratic than it actually is.

Found this bear trapped in barbed wire out in the snow. He was terrified and in pain, but leaving him wasn’t an option. Scariest moment of my life worth it to see him run free again.

Congrats to @brianillig on taking this once in a lifetime whitetail in Kansas. He has been pursuing this deer for a while now and this season, the stars aligned enough for him to be able to wrap his tag around his first 200!
Incredible whitetail and one that will definitely be hard to beat!
