@BillAckman My son @georges_mimassi is studying finance and CS. He lives in NYC and would love a 10-minute coffee chat with you. He is your biggest fan, and I don’t blame him for that.

That explains everything.
What’s actually going on in Ukraine is that there is a massive incentive difference between the elites and the people. The former have grown very rich off the hundreds of billions flowing to Ukraine, while the latter’s children are conscripted to die in trenches.

I just managed to do a job that would have taken 1 month in 9 hours using two agents from OpenAI and xAI. If I run them again to update the data, the 9 hours would collapse to 30 minutes. And some people still think that AI is a bubble.

It may sound counterintuitive, but eliminating the QA team can actually improve code quality.

God bless America, the country that gave freedom when tyranny was the norm, gave opportunities to those who didn’t have any, and advanced science for the benefit of the entire humanity.

Just as we no longer hunt or farm and built gyms to stay physically fit, AI will reclaim the time modern pressures stole from us, enabling us to have more real socializing, community, sports, and outdoor activities. The flip side? As routine thinking fades, we’ll need a “brain gym” too, to deliberately keep our minds sharp, creative, and fully human. 💪🧠 However, rather than making us lazy, I believe AI will supercharge our productivity, enabling us to increase our output exponentially; some will lose their jobs, but at a much lower scale than most people think, instead of layoffs there will be an unimaginable abundance, that we can't even fathom.

Arrogance in disguise is delivering something without giving it your absolute best, while assuming you can simply fix it later. The reality is that even when we do give our absolute best, it is rarely perfect. When we look back, we almost always see things we could have done better. Modesty is giving your best effort, while still expecting that there will be room to improve. It means staying humble enough to notice the signs, feedback, and gaps that can help you make the work better. True excellence is not believing your work is already good enough. It is caring deeply, doing your best, and remaining open to improvement.

One of the most frustrating things is when someone achieves massive success in one field, then arrogantly applies that credibility to opine on an adjacent field — without doing any first-principles analysis themselves — while dismissing the people who are actually smarter and have been rigorously studying the new domain from the ground up. It gets even worse when people in positions of power (who’ve achieved neither massive success nor done the deep analysis) blindly follow what the high-status success story says and ignore the real experts. They usually lack the intellectual capacity to evaluate the first-principles work themselves, so it’s easier to just defer to the “proven winner.” They also lack the intellectual and social courage to back an opinion that isn’t endorsed by someone famous. To those lacking that courage, remember Mark Twain’s words: “Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it is time to pause and reflect.”

Timeless principle. “Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it is time to pause and reflect.” — Mark Twain In business: majority = status quo. Great founders and great investors don’t optimize within the existing system. They rewrite it.

1/3What separates a good System Architect from an exceptional one? Deep product knowledge + clear future vision + realistic grasp of the team’s real capabilities. Then breaking that vision into perfectly balanced execution steps. No under-engineering. No over-engineering.

3/3 In the end, a great system architect is like a classical music composer: they define when each instrument plays and how they harmonize to create something effortless. Every piece is reusable, highly maintainable, and so simple that a new engineer can read the code and immediately think: “Got it — let’s ship.” The best architectures (and ideas) are almost always the simplest ones. Clarity > complexity. What’s the #1 quality you look for in a great System Architect? 👇 Tag someone who orchestrates like a maestro! 2/3 They reject the “if I have a hammer, everything looks like a nail” trap. They choose the right technology for the actual problem — not the shiniest new thing they just learned. They know when to: → use an AI agent → process with an LLM → stay with a monolith → go microservices → apply compaction… …always driven by users, constraints and context. No one-size-fits-all.

For a successful startup, the CEO should ideally be extremely technical. If they aren’t already, they should be capable of becoming so within the first six months. If that’s not realistic, they absolutely need a rock-solid technical co-founder. I strongly favor the technical CEO route over relying solely on a technical co-founder. You can’t fire a co-founder, but a technical CEO who’s fully committed to the company’s success will happily hire people who are far more technical than they are. Their own technical fluency lets them: • Speak the same language as the team • Deeply understand what’s being built • Spot blind spots that even the best engineers miss when they’re heads-down in the code The most immersed experts often develop tunnel vision. A technically literate CEO looking from a slightly wider angle can see opportunities, risks, and simpler solutions that insiders overlook. What’s your take? Have you seen a non-technical CEO succeed purely on business acumen, or does the technical edge make the difference? #Startups #FounderAdvice #TechLeadership #FounderTips
