how does it look from the otherside? Commission fee being collected by Fully Booked is exorbitant which is why you can only see very few filipino publications shelving their titles there. At this point, Fully Booked is just a warehouse for Penguin Randomhouse.

One of my favorite things about Ken Russell was that he was next level petty: Paddy Chayefsky had it in his contract that Russell couldn’t change a *single world* of Chayefsky’s verbose Altered States screenplay, so Russell got revenge by having the actors say every single word in the script, but in ways that made it sound ridiculous (rapid fire delivery, actors talking over each other, sometimes while eating) to the point that Chayefsky demanded they take his name off the film youtu.be/aLYWDYxuKSY

strategy ng LGU na yan mag-assist sa private sector ng pagdemolish ng urbanpoor settlements para tayuan ng malls na pwede pag-ganapan ng QCinema
Not that I am defending FDCP's decision to contruct Cinematheques on select areas because... they have tried on places -- Remember Cinematheque Nabunturan and Baguio? -- but there are things that is hard to maintain without proper funding and support.
^ this is definitely easier -- and cost efficient -- than constructing endless number of cinematheque in far flung areas (where it means hiring employees under government plantilla, etc).
which is why it is easier for local government units to have lives and livelihood destroyed by assisting private corporations in demolishing urban poor settlements to build malls where Film Festivals can be mounted
and working under neoliberalism means it gets harder for any substantial programs from this side of the governmen to actually be implemented in its ideal state
somehow I wanna be fair with this as a fellow government employee hahahahaha. there are limitations to where can an agency construct an infrastructure and we have known its cost in recent scandals
